Animal Crossing: New Horizonsmay have smashed series sales records, but there are millions of fans that have been playing the series well before the Nintendo Switch version launched. Prior toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, one of the most popularAnimal Crossinggames wasAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldon the Nintendo DS, which earned widespread acclaim and introduced the franchise to many.

Animal Crossing: Wild Worldis one of the best-selling Nintendo DS games of all time, and so as one might imagine, there are quite a few used copies floating around. Reddit user Pikafishy recently bought one of these used copies ofAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldfor the DS, and it seems as though the previous owner of the cartridge neglected to delete their save. While checking out the past owner’s village, Pikafishy discovered a rather hilarious letter that they had been preparing to send to one of their villagers.

The letter was never sent, but was intended forAnimal Crossingvillager Curly, a pig character with a jock personality. It seems the previous owner of this particularAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldcartridge wasn’t a big fan of Curly, as they call them “smelly” and a “fat pork chop” in the letter. The letter includes some misspelled insults and ends with a demand that Curly move to their brother’s town instead.Animal Crossingfans have been bullying undesirable villagersfor decades, it seems.

The Reddit post has gone viralAnimal Crossingsubreddit, earning over 15,000 upvotes at the time of this writing and counting. Anyone that wants to revisit the game will either need to have their old copy handy, find a used copy as Pikafishy did, or purchase the digital version through theWii U Virtual Console, asAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldis one of the few DS games that Nintendo re-released on its failed home console.

Unfortunately, Nintendo has not indicated that it has any plans onbringing Nintendo DS games to the Switch, and so fans interested in replayingAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldwill be limited to those aforementioned options. As it stands, one’sAnimal Crossingoptions on the Switch are limited toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, though that game is stuffed with enough content that it should keep fans busy for months.

Not only that, but Nintendo recently expanded on the content available inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonswith the big 2.0 update and theHappy Home ParadiseDLC. Even so, some fans may still prefer the simpler times ofAnimal Crossing: Wild Worldon the Nintendo DS.

Animal Crossing: Wild Worldis available on the Nintendo DS and Wii U.
