Overwatch 2’s Halloween Terror event is now underway, and it adds a variety of new challenges to the game. One of those challenges is called “Lantern Lit,” and it instructs players to crouch at the lantern for six seconds while the Ghost is active in Wrath of the Bride. This guide is here to explain exactly what that means, and it will help players complete the Lantern Lit challenge inOverwatch 2and claim its 1,000 XP reward.
Overwatch 2: Lantern Lit Challenge
Players should begin by accessingOverwatch 2’s Junkerstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bridegame mode through theArcade. Upon selecting Wrath of the Bride, players will be asked to choose their preferred difficulty, and Story is recommended for the purposes of completing the Lantern Lit challenge. Once the difficulty level has been picked, fans should choose their Hero and wait for the map to load.

Players must now work their way through Wrath of the Bride, following its objectives all the way to the point where they are instructed toburn the castle door. AfterOverwatch 2’s Asheuses her Dynamite ability to complete this objective, fans should enter the castle and watch as theUnstoppable Ghostappears in the stairway that is ahead. This is the Ghost that is referenced by the Lantern Lit challenge, and it will target and chase players while they are in this section of the map.
Upon encountering the Unstoppable Ghost, fans should wait for it to chase one of their teammates.Overwatch 2playersshould thenrun past the Ghost, ascend the stairway within which it spawned, and look to their leftwhen they reach the top. From this position, fans should see ablue lanternin the small room that is immediately in front of them, and all that is left to do now is crouch next to it until the Lantern Lit challenge has been marked as complete.
To note, this is not the only challenge that must be addressed at a very specific point within Wrath of the Bride. Indeed, there are also limited opportunities to complete challenges likeOverwatch 2’s Ominous Portentand Photozomb during a run of this co-op game mode. Players are thus advised to gain a solid understanding of all the event’s challenges before diving into Wrath of the Bride. This will make it possible to complete many challenges during a single playthrough, reducing the total number of times that players need to queue.
