The second season ofOverwatch 2is now available, and fans have already noticed Hanzo’s bow having an unprecedented level of visual recoil. Season 2 ofOverwatch 2has come with a long list of patch notes that detail the many balance changes, along with the new Shambali Monastery map and, of course, the game’s latest tank hero - Ramattra.
Fans ofOverwatch 2have been eagerly anticipating the game’s second season, particularly since Ramattra was revealed last month during the Overwatch League Grand Finals event. Blizzard promised a variety of balance tweaks to several heroes, and sure enough, quite a few characters have received some rather significant changes along with the new season. Doomfist and Junker Queen have received some much-needed buffs, with the developers enhancing the effects of Doomfist’s passive ability while also bumping up the damage done by his initial Rocket Punch. Sojourn has also finally received some highly-requested nerfs, which reduce the effectiveness and damage of her railgun while also reducing the time needed for her gathered energy to dissipate.

Hanzo mains inOverwatch 2have quickly come to notice an irritating quirk that the character now has, which causes his bow to violently recoil each time an arrow is fired. A post on Reddit from the user RoyalCheese4 provides a helpful clip which demonstrates this issue, comparing Hanzo’s new firing animation with his previous one. Fans within theOverwatch 2community are still speculating whether this is an intentional change or an accidental bug that came as a result of the changes to Hanzo’s firing speed. While the Season 2 patch notes explain that the damage role passive now provides increased reload speed at the cost of bonus movement speed, there’s nothing in them that suggests that Hanzo’s recoil is intentional.
ManyOverwatch 2players have vocalized how they find the new bow recoil to be annoying and distracting, hoping to bring attention to the issue so that Blizzard may quickly resolve it. As may be expected, this has prompted some players to once again make the joke thatHanzo will soon be sent to the infamousOverwatchjailwhile the developers fix the issue, but the chances of this actually happening are slim.
So far, fans seem to be quite fond of the new season and its changes, with many players enjoying playing as Ramattra and testing out his powerful new abilities on the battlefield.Blizzard will likely continue to respond to player feedbackthroughout Season 2, so fans likely won’t need to wait long before Hanzo’s recoil issue is officially addressed.
Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
