The Introduction Of The Figarland Family
Before diving into the character that is Saint Garling Figarland, fans need to knowabout the Figarland Familyitself. While many fans will assume that the Figarland Family made its way toOne Piecein the Reverie arc, that isn’t quite exactly the case. Those with a keen eye will have noticed this family come up inOne Piece Film: Red.Oda has a habit of introducing canon elements of his story, especially recently, in his movies. Stampede saw quite a few of such major revelations being made before they hit the manga and the same is true forOne PieceFilm: Redas well.
InOne Piece Film Red, fans gotto see the Five Elderstalk about Uta after her performances gained a lot of traction and it was revealed that she was the daughter of none other than the Emperor of the Sea, Red-Haired Shanks. Immediately, the Five Elders started discussing her bloodline and they came to the conclusion that she could be related to the Figarland Family, since she is the daughter of Shanks. This was a clear indication that the Figarland Family was among those living in the Holy Land of Marijoa as they referred to it as a royal bloodline. At the same time, this also tied Shanks to the Figarland Family, which makes for an even more interesting plotline moving forward in One Piece. Nonetheless, the Figarland Family actually made its way to One Piece long before the current Reverie arc. Oda is only building upon it even further now, and fans should also expect more information related to this unique family in the upcoming.
Who Is Garling Figarland?
With One Piece Film Red introducing fans to the Figarland Family, it was now left up to the manga to introduce this unique bloodline to the fans. Those who are familiar with Oda’s writing style were actually expecting it for quite a while. The Figarland Family are deeply connected to the beloved character that is Red-Haired Shanks and they had to pop up sooner rather than later in the manga, especially now that the story is and its final saga. One Piece chapter 1086 saw it that the Figarland Family got introduced to the fans in the most iconic of ways. At the Holy Land of Marijoa, fans saw a very intriguing character named Saint Garling Figarland. This character was revealed to be the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights, who are powerful fighters within the ranks of the Celestial Dragons, able to pass judgment on matters related to the Celestial Dragons as well as fight on their behalf.

St Garling Figarland isthe head of these Holy Knights, which means he is an extremely important character and an overpowered enemy for the protagonists of the story in the future. It was also revealed to the fans that Saint Garling Figarland has connections to a mysterious place that fans have been dying to know more about. This place is none other than God Valley. God Valley was introduced to One Piece fans during the Wano country arc, however, not a lot of details were revealed about it.
What fans knew was that God Valley was a place where Celestial Dragons were present for some reason. Later on, Rocks attacked it with his pirate crew and was met with resistance by the joint forces of Garp and Roger. Together, the two destroyed Rocks and the crew dissipated shortly afterwards. InOne Piecechapter 1086, it was made clear to the fans that Saint Garling Figarland was actually the former King of God Valley and this finally explains why Celestial Dragons were present on God Valley, 38 years ago.
The Powers Of Garling Figarland
Saint Garling Figarland appears to be a very powerful character. This is evident from his position within the World Government hierarchy. He is among the Celestial Dragons and, at the same time, not a weakling. The vast majority of the Celestial Dragons that have appeared inOne Piecehave been tremendously weak and incapable of fighting. Fans have seen very few of them who can hold their own in difficult battles. The likes of the Gorosei are going to be incredibly powerful and so is the sovereign of the world, Imu. Aside from these characters, Saint Garling Figarland is the very first powerful person within the World Government ranks.
His position as the leader of the Holy Knights is proof that he is very strong. At the same time, he’s also seen wielding a saber-like sword which is quite similar to the sword that Shanks wields. It can be assumed that Garling Figarland is a strong swordsman and that he is also a capable user of Haki. Whether or not he possesses a Devil Fruit has not been revealed to the fans just yet, however, as the series starts to focus more on this character, fans will surely find out what other abilities he has up his sleeve. If Saint Garling Figarland is anything like Shanks, then fans can also expect him to have great mastery over his Haki.
Another indication of his level of strength is the fact that Saint Garling Figarland was feared by Dragon himself. According to Dragon and Ivankov, the real battle of the Revolutionary Army begins when the Holy Knights are mobilized. This means that the Holy Knights are considered to be a powerful group that can actually rival the likes of the Revolutionary Army commanders, which makes Saint Garling Figarland even more dangerous. Fans are surely going to enjoy this character quite a lot in the future ofOne Piece.
From here on, Saint Garling Figarland will surely be heavily involved in the events of the story. With Marijoa under siege, the Holy Knights will have to move to the Blue Sea very soon. They will engage the Revolutionary Army in a war and that is where the real action will begin. Fans might even get to see the abilities of the likes of Dragon if he were to engage Saint Garling Figarland in combat. Sabo, and the other Revolutionary Army Commanders will also be involved heavily in the upcoming war. Shanks, who is also related to the Figarland Family and is likely the son of Saint Garling would also be very important in the upcoming events ofOne Piece.
