Warning: Spoilers for One Piece MangaEiichiro Oda’sOne Piecehas been a story filled with mysteries, prophecies, and a substantial amount of in-depth storytelling. One of the biggest mysteries that are yet to be revealed is the details regarding the ‘Void Century’ which contains details about the true history of theOne Pieceworld.

Not only does this open the door to more understanding of the current context of the story and expose what the World Government is hiding, but it also ties into multiple other factors the Manga has showcased more recently. With the Wano arc now over, the Straw Hats are now in Egghead Island, where more clues and details regarding the past are uncovered, with the reveal ofDr. Vegapunk and his counterparts.

5Advanced Technology Past

Chapter 1066gave fans an idea of what to expect regarding what the ‘Void Century’ may have maintained. With the World Government’s intentions of eliminating Dr. Vegapunk given the idea that he has information about the past, this stands as the biggest clue yet. Egghead Island is a place filled with futuristic technology and advanced functions, from its landscape, machinery, and clothing.

Whilst most of this could stem from the genius Dr. Vegapunk is, it is made clear that he is unclear of what is being hidden from the eyes of the world. In Chapter 1060,Imu sets the destruction of the entire country of Lulusiawhen it is revealed by Sabo that there may be some information that could expose some secrets. This would also tie into what may have happened within the God Valley incident, as that is another island that ceased to exist. The World Government’s urgency to destroy anything that could give an insight into the past is still very much present with Dr. Vegapunk, so this may lead many fans to wonder if Egghead Island is the closest thing to the past.

4Dr. Vegapunk Creator Of Devil Fruits

Chapter 1067 revealed some of what many fans had already predicted before Dr. Vegapunk’s reveal. It is implied that Vegapunk works or at least workedon the creation of Devil Fruits, as he mentions creating a defective one which turns out to be the very fruit that Wano’s Momonosuke had eaten that is akin to Kaido’s dragon form and abilities. Despite this, there are still questions as to whether Vegapunk is the main source of these creations, or if he just maintains a vast amount of vital knowledge on how they operate.

With this new arc underway and Vegapunk being a clear ally of the Straw Hats with the request of help to Luffy, fans are bound to discover more about the real source of Devil Fruits, and how this will tie into the ‘Void Century’.

3Joyboy Giant

Speaking of Devil Fruits, Wano contained one of One Piece’s biggest reveals in the story yet. Luffy’s Gear 5 awakening led to the explanation of the Gomu Gomu No Mi fruit not being a Paramecia, but actually, a Zoan fruit known as the Hito Hito No Mi Model: Nika. Along with this, it was revealed that Luffy is indeed Joyboy, and whilst it is not absolutely clear who Joyboy was or what Joyboy is, it gives fans another clue to mysteries before in the story. At the end of the Dressrosa arc which featured Doflamingo’s defeat at the hands of Luffy, Imu is seen viewing Luffy’s wanted poster standing in front of a large straw hat identical to Luffy’s.

Given Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation and the ability to turn himself into a giant as seen in his battle with Kaido, this opens the door to the theory of a previous Joyboy being a giant. Even though it is made clear that Luffy is not a reincarnation of Joyboy, it is still yet to be revealed what this said thing or person was, which makes it much harder for fans to uncover the meaning behind this massive straw hat.

2D Clan Overthrown

If there is any other factor more related to the ‘Void Century’, it would be the D clan and what this entails. It still remains one of the biggest kept secrets by Oda till this point of the story, and many fans have continued to speculate. Going by the theory of the past being one of an advanced civilization and the knowledge fans have of the D clan being the natural-born enemy of theCelestial Dragons, it seems as though members of this clan may have been rulers of multiple kingdoms years ago. So far, almost all of the characters inOne Piecewith D in their names have shown some nature of disdain toward the World Government. Marines such as Luffy’s grandfather Monkey D. Garp who is held as a hero by the world opposes the World Government and does not wish to serve directly under them.

Luffy’s father Monkey D. Dragon is the direct antagonist in the eyes of the World Government, as theRevolutionary Armyis at war against them. All of this may imply that characters within the current context of this story are descendants of deceased D clan members, and it is written that these descendants will take back what was once theirs and overcome the evil of the World Nobles.

1The One Piece

The most important out of all is the very thing the entire story is about. Many theories regarding theOne Piecequestion what it may be and the meaning it has for the world. The World Government appears to be adamant to keep this out of reach for pirates, and this may very well be because theOne Pieceis the very thing that reveals the truth of the world and the ‘Void Century’. Gol D. Roger’s final words at his execution were that which explained theOne Piece’containing everything the world has to offer'.

This almost certifies that if theOne Pieceisn’t just only information based on the past, it still definitely has information that will be useful to pirates' understanding of it. AsOne Piecehas entered its final stage with more mysteries edging closer to their reveals at long last, fans should know that this will eventually be revealed juxtaposed with all of the other important details of its world.
