A new Inside Xbox stream has been announced, teasing surprises and news about some exciting games. However,Xboxfans are likely to be disappointed as the organizers confirm that the event won’t give fans the information they’re looking for.
In a post on the Xbox Wire, it has been confirmed that an Inside Xbox stream will be held on April 7 at 2PM PT. The stream, which will be shown on Mixer, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter, will offer news about games likeGears Tactics,Sea of Thieves, andObsidian Entertainment’s new gameGrounded. There will also be announcements about Xbox Game Pass and “some surprises” from the ID@Xbox team.

What the stream won’t offer though is any new information about the Xbox Series X. The Inside Xbox stream will feature Jason Ronald, the director of program management for the console to talk about theXbox Series X specsand “what they mean for gamers” but no new announcements about the console’s release plans will be made.
This will be hugely disappointing for fans who had been excited by some comments made by Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Spencer said that between now and the Xbox Series X launch in holiday 2020, the team would bemostly talking about the console’s games. Many of the other announcements had been about the console’s power so fans have been asking for Xbox to reveal how developers will be using that.
News about the console’s games would also help to address concerns about the Xbox Series X launch lineup. Other comments made by Spencer suggest that there will not be manynew Xbox Series X exclusives for fans to enjoy at launch. There will be thousands of Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games available on Xbox Series X at launch due to backward compatibility, but these aren’t the exclusives and new games that fans want.
That information may not be coming in this Inside Xbox stream, but the Xbox team likely has big plans for the next few months. It has been confirmed that there will be adigital Xbox event in Junewhich will replace the Xbox presentation which was going to be held at the, now cancelled, E3 2020. This will likely offer a huge amount of information about the Xbox Series X, but it’s unclear if fans will get to hear anything more before that.
Xbox Series X is scheduled for release Holiday 2020.
