AsThe Witcher’sseason two premiere is getting closer, Netflix wants to ensure to market Geralt of Rivia’s new adventures the right way, and that includes showing off all the new monsters the White Wolf will be facing this time around, most of which will be all too familiar for fans of the games.

Just under a month ago when the official trailer forThe Witcher’s second season was dropped, one of its biggest highlights were the new bestiary entries spotted all over the place, which include a bruxa and a leshen similar to the oneVesemir encounters inNightmare of the Wolf. However, it’s not just monsters, becauseThe Witcherseems to be taking things to the next level in every department.

Still, more monsters and magic is clearly the angleThe Witcher’s marketing teamis leaning into with a new short clip featuring Geralt having a hard time killing a Myriapod in some lonely snowy woods. Myriapods have been mentioned before inThe Witcher, though the Giant Centipedes would appear to be their closest relatives. So, Geralt would do well to have some insectoid oil and Yrden signs ready to get the upper hand.

The footage does not leave Geralt in an advantageous position of any kind, as the bug-like Myriapod sends the Witcher flying with a hard blow. However, considering these snowy landscapes resemble the trail he crosses with Ciri on their way to Kaer Morhen, it’s safe to say Geralt will make it out of this one. The special effects on the sword and CGI Myriapod will bode well with fans who were hoping season two would see Geralt use his silver sword more frequently.

So far, it looks like Henry Cavill’s Geralt is looking more like his video game persona given he uses his Quen sign to protect himself from one of the hits, and the orange glow in his sword could either be attributed to a rune or the correct type of oil. With the promise of new Witchersand sorcerers joining Geralt and Yennefer,The Witcher’s second season could correct some of the faults from two years ago, which will bode well with Netflix after renewing the show for a third season.

Said third season is reportedly already being worked on by writer Lauren S. Hissrich, although filming is still far from starting. WithThe Witcher,Cobra Kai,Emily in Paris,Money Heist, andDon’t Look Up, it truly does seem like Netflix has a little something for everyone these holidays.

The Witcherseason two is coming to Netflix on Jul 30, 2025.
