With just one day left before Sony’s official PS5 game reveal event finally airs, anticipation is high over the first real showcase of the next generation of PlayStation games, and while fans continue tospeculate which PS5 games could be announced tomorrow, it’s pretty much certain that the upcoming action-RPGGodfallwill be among them.

As the first game to be announced for the PS5, the new“looter-slasher”from Gearbox Software and Counterplay Games has held a place of some prominence in the conversation surrounding the console and its upcoming games. Whether it will be able to maintain that prominence once Sony announces its own PS5 titles will remain to be seen, but for the time being Gearbox and Counterplay are offering fans whatever teases they can.

Last week, they got things rolling with a brief teaser showing offGodfall’s playable Silvermane class and its armor-like Valorplate, and today they followed up with another short video, this time highlighting the sword known as Eclipse.

Fans will likely recognize the Eclipse as the flaming sword wielded by one of the characters inGodfall’s reveal trailer, but beyond that, the teaser doesn’t reveal much about how the weapon will work in the game itself. Like the Silvermane teaser, what it does provide is a little bit of lore, with a narrator describing how the Eclipse was “forged of pure Sunsteel and cast in twilight, crafted as the stars rise.”

Although that doesn’t give much of an idea of what actually playing it will be like, details shared in recent months offer a clearer idea ofwhat to expect fromGodfall’sgameplay. Beyond its loot-centric premise,Godfallwill reportedly boast gameplay that takes inspiration from the likes ofMonster Hunter,Dark Souls, andDestinyin its approach to combat, bosses, and character classes. On a more technical level, it’s said that the game will utilize a wide range of the PS5’s capabilities, such as ray-tracing to make the world more vibrant and 3D audio to improve the quality of sounds like enemy footsteps.

For now, these things remain to be properly shown off, but it’s very likely that fans may see at least a few of these in action duringSony’s PS5 game reveal eventtaking place tomorrow at 1:00 PM PST.

Godfallwill be released this holiday season for PC and PS5.
