Movie fans love happy endings. For the most part anyway. A popular happy ending for a character is to end up in the arms of someone they love. And even when they die, they can get a redemption arc and be presented as the hero who helped save the day and sacrificed their lives in the process. While some heroes are sympathetic and easy to cheer on, other movie character got undeserved happy endings.

Either because they were horrible to others for the most part and only switched to the good side at the last possible moment or because they hurt many other people which is something even their subsequent good deeds couldn’t erase. Whatever the case, there are some supposed heroes who didn’t deserve the happily ever after they received at the end of the movie.
5Catwoman In The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Selina Kyle aka Catwoman is one of the more complex DC charactersand is at best an antihero than an actual hero. Batman, on the other hand, does his best to protect people, so their pairing doesn’t quite make sense. Even more so inThe Dark Knight Riseswhere there isn’t enough time for Catwoman’s character transformation. Considering the fact how little they know each other, it comes across as strange that they should get their happily ever after as the ending implies.
When they met, Selina didn’t treat Bruce in the best way and hurt him even though she knew he had a problem with his leg at the time. She might have changed a lot over time, but it’s hard to sympathize with her without the movie showing how the change happened and how it affected Selina’s relationship with Bruce. There’s also the fact that Batman doesn’t like criminals and Catwoman is a thief. The comics, where they get together, only to break up in the end, might not be as happy as the movie’s finale, but they’re more realistic considering everything the audience knows about these two characters.

4Jim In Passengers (2016)
Jim’s situation was tragic, but that doesn’t change the fact he could have ruined another person’s life. Jim travels on a ship, asleep, but when he’s woken up 90 years before the ship reaches its destination and can’t go back to sleep, he decides to wake up another person, a woman, so that he wouldn’t be alone. He chooses Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence)since her beauty attracts him.

And by waking her up, Jim sentences Aurora to dying without ever reaching the place where she was going or speaking to another human beside him (unless they would have children). When Aurora learns the truth, she’s angry at Jim at first but forgives him in the end and based on the movie’s finale, they live happily together side by side. Considering the fact that Jim waking up Aurora was an act of selfishness, the happy ending had a less realistic feeling to it than the rest of the movie.
3Kylo Ren In The New Star Wars Trilogy
It’s true that Kylo Ren died in the end, but not before he switched to the light side and helped save Rey’s life. They even kissed before Kylo Ren died. Some fans were quick to point out that Kylo Ren didn’t deserve the redemption arc considering all the atrocities he committed in the past and how many people he either killed or was indirectly responsible for their deaths.
The worst act he committed in the movies was when he killed his own father, Han Solo. Of course, Kylo Ren was manipulated by Snoke, but he was still old enough to know better, as other characters in theStar Warsfranchise never fell for the manipulation of others. Thanks to Adam Driver’s talent and charisma he lent to the role, Kylo Ren became a fan-favorite of many but the truth remains that he’s far from a hero.

Abby grows tired of her behavior and strikes a friendship with a young woman Riley, which, in turn, Harper doesn’t like. Despite all the difficulties they face, Harper and Abby stay together in the end and Harper’s family learns the truth. But that doesn’t change the fact that Harper doesn’t act kind toward Abby for most of the movie, and as such, their reconciliation comes across as forced. Harper isn’t necessarily a bad person. However, she does act like a bad guy in the movie, but she still gets the girl in the end despite her behavior.
Amanda Waller is to the Suicide Squad what Nick Fury is to the Avengers. But even when Fury kept a lot of secrets from others, people who trusted him, he was never as bad as Waller. She seems to have zero respect for human lives as she was ready to let Starro destroy the city and kill many people.

Despite her actions,Waller is still a member of the teamat the end of the movie and hasn’t been replaced by someone more suitable for the position.
