To bring more variety and fun toMortal Kombat 1, some players use mods to change up the Kombatants' looks and even add unexpected characters. One mod was recently making rounds on social media as it adds Freddy Fazbear toMortal Kombat 1. Originally uploaded on Nexus Mods by CometSlayer last October 13, the mod replaces Cyrax with Freddy, but the catch is it only works on Kameos.Mortal Kombat 1player Mike Monty showed off this Freddy mod in a YouTube video.

As a cybernetic ninja, Cyrax uses electric saws and bombs in fights. These abilities were a perfect fit for the Freddy mod since he’s an animatronic bear with an equally deadly streak. ManyMortal Kombatfans found the mod amusing, expressing that they wanted to try it for themselves. One noted that it should replace Cyrax’s bomb with cupcakes to go with theFive Nights at Freddy’stheme. Another netizen imagined otherMortal Kombat 1characters asFive Nights at Freddy’scharacters, like Johnny Cage as Foxy from the firstFNAFgame and Mileena as Roxanne fromSecurity Breach. Apart from cosmetics-based mods, someMortal Kombat 1players have also enjoyed a mod that lets themwatch fatalities in first person.

TheFive Nights at Freddy’suniverse is just as complicated and morbid as theMortal Kombatfranchise. Although there’s still a lot of debate about what’s really going on in theFive Nights at Freddy’slore, many players have been invested in it since the first game came out in 2014. The upcoming live-action film starring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard might just fuel this obsession further, and could even pull new fans in.

Mortal Kombat 1is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
