InMLB The Show 22, players can step into the action during three-game innings to build experience and work their way towards rewards while conserving time in the condensed game mode. While the idea is a big hit with the player base, an issue came to light regarding the energy levels of the game’s relief andstarting pitchers.

The problem occurs specifically inMLB The Show 22’s three-inning games, where players noticed their relief pitchers' stamina bars going into yellow after only five pitches. While the game-shortened mode brings a nine-inning game down to three, relief pitchers usually average a few dozen pitches in a few innings.

While at-bats can get extended due to several foul balls keeping the play alive, relief pitchers shouldn’t be exhausted after a handful of throws. While stamina scaling is trending in the right direction over the years,MLB The Show 22’s relief pitchersrequiring replacement after a dozen pitches will burn through any player’s bullpen in an inning or two. However, San Diego Studio announced that a patch adds a fix to the stamina levels for both the starting and relief pitchers in a tweet on April 12. For players engaged inMLB The Show 22’s three-inning games, they’ll also notice that energy levels will regenerate somewhat faster as well.

Since its launch, San Diego Studio has had its hands full dealing with bugs and problems, releasing two patches in the first two days. Whilesome issues inMLB The Show 22are comical, others have left players without the items they used real money to purchase, leading them to take to social media to vent their frustrations. There is still much work to do when it comes to patching things up, including players freezing at the plate after striking out, and developers have made a statement claiming bigger fixes are on the way. While it’s understandable that players are upset with the game’s shortcomings, it’s worth noting this isn’t out of the ordinary when it comes to sports games.

On the same day,MLB The Show 22announced the fourth installment of the Headliners Set, featuring a 91-overall Diamond Mariano Rivera. If players missed out on picking upBilly Wagner in the Headliners Set 02last week, Rivera is a suitable alternative to boosting the bullpen. There are also new Spotlight Moments for players to take on and earn 1,000 XP per challenge. With the Central Conquest map now available, there’s no shortage of things to do in the game, allowing for hours of play through various modes.

MLB The Show 22is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
