The Surface Laptop Go 2, on the other hand, was a more compact and less powerful laptop also powered by an 11th Gen processor.

According to past leaks and rumors, Microsoft is gearing up to launch newer versions of both the Surface Laptop Studio and the Surface Laptop Go. Now,it has been reportedthat the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will come with a 13th Gen Intel Core processor and an RTX 40 series GPU. The report shares key specifications, as well as images for the two devices. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is said to come with the Core i7-13700H or the Core i7-13800H. Both these chips have six Performance cores and eight Efficiency cores, but there is a slight difference in clock speeds.
Furthermore, the Core i7-13700H model is said to get the Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU while the Core i7-13800H model is said to come with an RTX 4060. There will also be a version with no dedicated GPU. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 could come with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM. For connectivity, it may come with a standard USB Type-A port, a microSD card slot, and two Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports. It looks like Microsoft has finally listened to the community that has been demanding some form of a card reader and a regular-size USB port for peripherals.
For reference, the original Surface Laptop Studio offered up to 32 GB LPDDR4x RAM, up to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11370H processor, up to an RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU with 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM, two USB-C with USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port.

In terms of design, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is expected to retain the 14.4-inch 2400x1600 pixels touchscreen display with 3:2 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. All of this will supposedly be backed by a 58Wh battery that can deliver up to 19 hours of runtime. It is said to weigh 2kg and comes with Bluetooth 5.x as well as Wi-Fi 6E.
The sleek and powerful productivity machine form factor of the Surface Laptop Studio 2 can be currently achieved with some laptop models available in the market right now, like the Asus Zephyrus G14 and the Razer Blade 16, though these devices do not offer the versatility of the Surface Laptop Studio 2. They also have a 13th Gen Intel CPU and RTX 30 series GPU.

The base Surface Laptop Studio 2 with the Intel Xe GPU could be priced at EUR 2,249, while the RTX 4050 model with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD could cost EUR 2,729. The 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and RTX 4060 variant is expected to be priced at EUR 3,199 and the 64 GB RAM variant may cost around EUR 3700. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is expected to be available on October 3.
For the Surface Laptop Go 3, the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD model is said to cost EUR 899 and will also be available early in October. Microsoft is hosting an event in New York on September 21 and is expected to share details about the two devices on the day.
