Since the exciting reveal trailer that saw the claw-wielding mutant preparing to wreak havoc in a bar, fans have only received bits and pieces of info from social media and job listings. While it is exciting that one of the creative minds behindSpec Ops: The Linewill be involved with the game’s narrative, and thatMarvel’s Wolverinewill have a mature tone, many are hoping to get proper info on the story and gameplay soon. With 2022 slowly nearing its end, some are wondering if the game will make another appearance this year.

Marvel’s Wolverine Fans Should Keep Their Expectations Low
As with any game that is in development, it would be wise forWolverine fansto keep their expectations low about a potential reveal. After all,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is set to launch in 2023, and Insomniac Games may not wantMarvel’s Wolverineto steal its spotlight. As such, Sony and Insomniac could hold off on showing more of the game until afterMarvel’s Spider-Man 2has been released, keeping Marvel fans focused on the upcoming title instead of one that is presumably further away.
On top of this, even if the game is shown off, fans should not expect to see too much proper gameplay until closer to release. Considering that Insomniac only had a brief CGI teaser to share when it announced the project, it can be assumed thatMarvel’s Wolverineis still fairly in development. Perhaps fans will see the rest of the bar fight from that CGI trailer, confirmingwho will voice Wolverine, how violent the combat will be, and what other characters will make an appearance within the game.
If Marvel’s Wolverine Appears, It Will Be at 2022’s PlayStation Showcase
Still, considering thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2andMarvel’s Wolverinewere revealed at the exact same event, it would not be shocking for them to be shown off together at another show. With a majorPlayStation Showcaselikely taking place soon, players could end up seeingMarvel’s Wolverineagain one year after it was initially unveiled to the public. ThoughMarvel’s Spider-Man 2would likely take up a larger portion of the show, it could be nice to have an update on how Logan’s game is progressing as well.
On the off chance gameplay is shown, it could be from an Alpha build, so fans should not expect it to match the official release. Given the absurd controversy aroundMarvel’s Spider-Man’s puzzles, it is important to keep in mind how games can change during the development process. Still, as mentioned above, expecting anything like gameplay or a release date would not be wise. ThoughInsomniac Gameshas started to establish a track record for getting its games out fast,Marvel’s Wolverinemight not be coming until 2024 or beyond.
As of now, it is up in the air whether fans will seeMarvel’s Wolverineagain this year, as there is no confirmation that it will be shown off before 2022 comes to a close. If it is going to happen, though, it will likely be at this year’s PlayStation Showcase as opposed to another event likeGamescom.
