Every gamer gets to craft each playable character’s deck inMarvel’s Midnight Suns. The default deck is not good enough to win the game unless players have the difficulty dialed way down. Even then, it will be a struggle and it won’t be as enjoyable as the game could be.

This kind of freedom can also be a bit terrifying. Sometimes players get rid of a card that directly contributes to the character’s path to success. But don’t worry; with a few tips, anyMarvel’s Midnight Sunsplayer can make a custom deck that they’ll be proud of.

Know The Hero’s Primary Role

When trying to put together a winning team, each character will have to have a preferred role. The best hero combos in the gamemix up tanking, damage, and support, sometimes asking that the participants play in a hybrid role to cover each other’s weaknesses.

Every character can potentially be altered, however, there is no way to make Captain America a top-tier damage dealer or the Scarlet Witch an elite tank. When building a deck, don’t just select the most enticing cards, use the ones that fit the role of the hero.

Check Out Passives First

Every character has a passive ability that is often forgotten. For example, Magik has a passive ability that gives her a chance to get another Limbo Portal card for free when she knocks enemies through a different portal.

If players don’t know this, they might be inclined to use cards that ignore the portal pushing entirely instead of usingher best deck. These passives are free bonuses and passing up on them is unwise; build around them to emphasize the character’s identity.

Stay Heroism Neutral/Positive

It is a rare experience indeed to have extra Heroism and nothing to use it on. The most powerful cards in the game need loads of it. This aside, the environment always provides ways to take out enemies without cards for those whogenerate enough extra Heroism.

The total heroism generated by the character’s cards should be greater or at least equal to the Heroism cost. The more heroism the better as the excess translates to extra environmental attacks.

Ignore Rarity

Gamers by this point are used to seeing colors of common and rare cards and then dismissing them the instant they see the orange glint of a legendary card. In some games, an increased rarity on a card is a direct benefit. In this game, it means nothing.

Some of the best decks for players don’t elect to use the legendary card at all and some pass up on the epic quality cards. Gamers thatfarm up essencemay be thinking about spending it on crafting an expensive ability, but double-check to make sure the card is worth it first.

Upgrade Each Card

It should go without saying that every card is better when upgraded. When testing out a deck, an upgraded card can make a substantial difference. Perhaps the best example of this is the knockback given to The Hunter on the Quick Strike card. This simple upgrade makes the card go from one of the worst to perhaps the most valuable ability in the game.

When experimenting, always use upgraded cards as the regular versions hardly showcase the card’s potential.

Rerolling Mods

Learning to modis an expensive lesson. In the endgame, most of the resources will likely be spent on mod rerolls. Getting the right mod on the right card can be a matter of time, especially since the boosts are random, but players can find mods that work for them.

Extra Heroism and damage are always welcome. Some mods can add important modifiers like Quick and Lifesteal, or even add charges to a Chain. If the cost gets too expensive, craft another two cards, upgrade them, and start over.

Quick And Free Are The Best

Especially on the hardest difficulties, the three-card limit tends to be ridiculously constrictive. To get around this, have as many Quick and Free cards as is permitted. Quick cards are refunded if they kill any opponent at all and Free cards, as they indicate, don’t cost a thing.

The Hunter’s best deckutilizes many of these as this hero specifically needs to be along for the most important combat encounters. If these are on a card naturally or as a mod, find a way to get them involved.

One Heavy-Hitter Card Per Deck

Damage-dealing cards can generally be broken down into two categories; ones that attack swaths of enemies and ones that take out a single target. Heroes should try to have one heavy-hitter in their deck but not more than this.

The reason is that many elite units are chiseled down by the same cards that take out groups. Some mission-critical targets and elite mobs, however, have too much life for this. If every hero has one single-target damage-dealing card, players will either always have one in their hand or be able to play cards until they draw one.

Check For Synergies

Since teammates can’t always be guaranteed, decks need to be ready to set themselves up. For example, if a hero has a card that deals extra damage if the target is stunned, pair this card with another card that stuns.

The deck should have a natural flow to it. By rotating the cards correctly, gamers should be able to predict the way in which the deck will keep opponents locked down or knocked out. The cards before and after each card should come naturally.

Double Up On Good Cards

There are eight card slots and a maximum of two duplicate cards (the cap is reduced to one for legendary cards). There is strength in diversity to be sure, but the other teammates will provide plenty of other various cards. Each ideal hero deck should have two of each of the character’s best cards.

Sometimes, this means only four card pairs as is the case withIron Man’s best deck. This creates consistency in combat; players know they will regularly have at least one of the character’s best cards during each turn.
