Jump Forceallows players to fight with some of the most famous characters from a popular manga collection, the Weekly Shonen Jump. Naturally, the opportunity to fight the likes of Goku fromDragon Balland Ichigo fromBleachexcited many players when the game was released. YetJump Forcefaced a mixed receptionwhen it launched in 2019. Nonetheless,Jump Forceis coming to Switch in the form of a deluxe edition which promises to add some interesting features for manga fans.

Someplayers have defendedJump Forceclaiming it is better than reviews suggest, while others were underwhelmed by dipping frame rates and a lack of narrative. Interestingly, the trailer that premiered at GamesCon showcases some of the negative elements of the gameplay as well as factors that may tempt players. The initial reception to the trailer has been mixed with comments critiquing the original experience of the game even with the like ratio trending positively.

The trailer forJump Force: Deluxe Editionshowcases the diverse character roster which features characters fromNaruto, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, My Hero Academiaas well as many more. Interestingly, the deluxe edition of the game will also include characters who were released through DLC such as Shoto Todoroki and the upcoming addition of Meruem fromHunter X Hunter. The trailer revealed bonus items for those who purchase the game digitally before September 9. The items were primarily cosmetic but included the likes of Saiyan armor and a Hokage cloak as well as suggesting that more content would come to the game. It will be interesting to see if new additions to the game can sway players who may be concerned by the reputation of the game.

The game is available on the Nintendo Switch now and fans of the game will be impressed thatJump Forceis adding more charactersthat players will be able to master. Alongside pre-order bonuses, it seems that the game has plenty of content even if some of the initial issues in the game continue. The framerate in the trailer was inconsistent and as a result, many will expect this issue featured in the original release to continue. Furthermore, it is unlikely that the narrative that underpins the action in the game will be rebooted for this release.

TheSwitch version ofJump Forceis unlikely to change the minds of consumers, but it should continue interest fans of the manga and anime franchises included within this fighting game. There may also be reinvestment from fans who have enjoyed the title and want new additions on a different console.
