Gojo’s Powers Explained
Gojo Satoru is blessed with incredibly rare and unique powers, but it can be confusing how it all works. Thankfully, Gojo’s powers can be explained based on how he utilizes his inherited technique, Limitless. On the fundamental level, Limitless grants the userabsolute control over spaceusing cursed energy. Gojo’s ability to slow down anything that comes near him is Infinity, the neutral and most basic form of Limitless. However, this ability can be modified, resulting in different techniques.
The first technique, Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue is an enhanced version of Limitless. Blue is the result of Gojo adding negative cursed energy to amplify Limitless. The result is the ability to create negative space, causing matter to be pulled inward, filling the empty space. Cursed Technique Reversal: Red is Gojo’s next technique and is the inverse of Blue. Red is made from Gojo applying a reversal technique to the cursed energy used for Blue, producing an opposite effect. Instead, Red creates excess space, forcing matter to repel. Gojo’s secret technique, Hollow Technique: Purple is an unknown combination between Red and Blue. Thecreation of positive and negative space togethercreates a singularity forming ‘imaginary mass’. The result is an unstoppable orb that erases everything in its path.
Why is Gojo the Strongest Sorcerer?
Gojo is the first sorcerer of the Gojo family to be born with both Limitless and Six Eyes in 400 years. While Limitless basis for Gojo’s techniques, Six Eyes enhances his abilities ten-fold, reducing the amount of cursed energy for his techniques to almost nothing. It’s the astronomically rare combination that makes him the perfect storm for killing curses. However, with Limitless and Six Eyes alone, Gojo would only be capable of performing Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue. At most, the technique could only create massive gravitational pulls, similar to a black hole. To repel matter, Gojo learned the incredibly difficult technique of reversing cursed energy. By default, cursed energy is negative, since it is born from negative emotions, and only has the power to hurt. However, by multiplying the negative energy, positive cursed energy can be created and used to heal. This is an incredibly rare technique and is used by Gojo to create Cursed Technique Reversal: Red by inverting Blue.

Gojo can keep a permanent barrier of Infinity around him through the negligible amount of energy it costs due to Six Eyes. Simultaneously, Gojo heals himself with positive energy to alleviate the physical strain from using Infinity constantly. Coupled with tremendous physical strength,intelligenceand agility, it is no wonder why he is the strongest jujutsu sorcerer.
Is Gojo Too Overpowered?
The jaw-dropping strength behind Gojo Satoru makes for some exciting moments by blowing away enemies with ease. However, it can also make fights incredibly predictable, removing a lot of the tension and stakes that make shounen battles so exciting.
TheJujutsu Kaisenuniverse seems to be aware of the fact that Gojo is extremely overpowered. Similar to All Might inMy Hero Academia, Gojo’s presence alone has put many curses into hiding, afraid of being exorcised. Even the most powerful cursed spirits are completely helpless in the face of Satoru Gojo. Jogo, a special grade cursed spiritgot completely demolishedin episode 5 ofJujutsu Kaisen. However, it seems that Jogo and his alliance are collaborating to take Gojo down. It is not known what exactly the plan is, but if they are successful then it would spell massive danger for all Jujutsu sorcerers.
