Jujutsu Kaisenhas seen the introduction of quite a lot of powerful characters over the years and in the Shibuya arc, fans saw the full potential of one such character, Megumi. One of the strongest abilities that Megumi possesses is the ability to summon the strongest of the 10 shikigami, Mahoraga.
Fans know that Mahoraga is an incredibly overpowered shikigami that not many can defeat or destroy. The ability that it possesses to adapt to any and all phenomena makes it incredibly dangerous and that, when coupled with its other weapons, ensures that only a handful can stand a chance against it in battle. That said, there are certainly characters in the world ofJJKthat can defeat it.

His strength was put on display in the anime recently, and it gave fans another refresher as to how powerful this beastly Shikigami can be. At the same time, in the manga, the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen featured Mahoraga greatly, and this powerful entity has gone on to surprise fans on many occasions. While this list already goes over the individuals who have the power to defeat Mahoraga, there are others who stand a chance against it too. With that, this list has now been updated.
6Yuta Okkotsu
A Modern Sorcerer With Limitless Potential
Yuta Okkotsu is a monstrously powerful individual and a Special Grade Sorcerer. Fans have seen quite a lot of him over the years, and it was rather recentlyin the Culling Game arcthat a true glimpse of his strength was given. In fact, later down the line, in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Yuta showcased even more of his powers in the fight against Sukuna when he unleashed his domain expansion, called Authentic Mutual Love.
Yuta’s domain expansion is incredibly powerful and it allows him to use all the cursed techniques that he has copied infinitely. Essentially, inside of his domain expansion, there are countless swords lined up. Each sword carries a cursed technique that he has copied and Yuta can simply pick up the sword and use this power on his enemies. Once a technique is utilized, the sword dissipates, however, it re-emerges as another sword inside the domain expansion. The only downside is that Yuta does not know which cursed technique is present within which sword. Given that Mahoraga can adapt to all phenomena, this Domain Expansion is the perfect counter to him, as Yuta can utilize multiple abilities. To make things even worse for Mahoraga, Yuta can actually make any technique that he has copied the sure hit attack of his domain, which means that he can even utilize techniques such as Sukuna’s Cleave or Dismantle, among many other powers, to one-shot Mahoraga. Out of all the characters, Yuta certainly has a great chance of defeating this Divine General.
5Yuji Itadori
The Protagonist Of The Series
Yuji itadori is greatly rising in terms of strength and skill and right now, he is certainly strong enough to defeat Mahoraga as well. Yuji showcased incredible might in his fight against Sukuna. While he was certainly not even remotely close to his level at the beginning, he later underwent an awakening, and when that happened, it was clear for the fans to see that he was now strong enough to take on the strongest individuals in the series. Even against someone like Mahoraga, Yuji will not struggle at all. Fans only need to look at his power-ups to judge that he is in a league of his own. For one, Yuji possesses the power of soul damaging blows. Any attack from him immediately strips away cursed energy output of an individual.
It also damages the soul directly, which means that nobody in the world of JJK is immune to his attacks. At the same time, Yuji has access to Blood Manipulation. He gained this power by consuming the Death Paintings 4 to 9. He can use powers such as Piercing Blood with rather ease, and as he masters it, he can probably use other powerful techniques as well. On top of everything, Yuji has recently awakened his new cursed technique, Mizushi, or Shrine. This is the same cursed technique as Sukuna himself. This means that Yuji has access to attacks such as Cleave and Dismantle, although they work in a slightly different way than Sukuna’s. He hasn’t gained full control over it, but he is exceptional enough to overpower even the King of Curses. On top of that, he can even hit Black Flashes, possibly at will, which makes Yuji a contender for the strongest sorcerer in the entire series, hard as that may be to believe for the fans. In a fight against Mahoraga, Yuji can and will most definitely win.
4Yuki Tsukumo
A Special Grade Sorcerer
Yuji is a terrifying sorcerer with the ability to add virtual mass to herselfand her Shikigami, Garuda. At her best, she can produce actual black holes. What’s even more terrifying is the fact that Yuki also had access to Domain Expansion, which, unfortunately, fans never got to see. Given that domain expansion is the Pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery, Yuki’s trump card could easily have allowed her to pull out an even bigger trump card in the fight against Kenjaku.
Regardless, what fans know is that in any other fight, Yuki most likely would utilize her domain expansion to bring out the very best of her cursed technique. It goes without saying that this technique of hers would also aid her greatly in the battle against Mahoraga and allow her to claim victory.
3Kenjaku
One Of The Overarching Antagonists Of JJK
Kenjaku is one of the main villainsinJJKand certainly among the strongest as well. Currently, he is controlling the body of Suguru, who fans know has tremendous powers up his sleeve. With the army of Cursed Spirits that he possesses, he can come up with ways to defeat Mahoraga. Even though Mahoraga is equipped with a sword positive energy, which would allow him to defeat a lot of the incredible cursed spirits that Kenjaku can use, he could still very well fall to the incredible powers that he has up his sleeve.
Kenjaku might not look like the strongest, however, when he utilizes his incredible brain, he can come up with solutions to nearly any problem and he would surely be strong enough to counter Mahoraga. In fact, he himself mentioned that the only ones that he is wary of are Sukuna and a user of the Six Eyes and the Limitless technique. This is proof in itself that Kenjaku believes that he doesn’t have to be afraid of a threat such as Mahoraga.
2Sukuna
The King Of Curses
The King of Curses, Sukunais another character that fans have already seen fighting against Mahoraga. Even with just 15 fingers, was strong enough to take down a weaker Mahoraga with just one shot. He certainly has more up his sleeve that he hasn’t utilized yet and the current version of Sukuna would make even quicker work of this shikigami.
That is certainly not to say that Mahoraga is weak. It simply means that characters such as Sukuna possess so much strength that even Mahoraga is insignificant in front of their tremendous strength. This is true now more than ever before, given that Sukuna has entered his reincarnated state.
1Gojo Satoru
The Strongest Modern Sorcerer
Undoubtedly,the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojois easily strong enough to take down Mahoraga. In fact, these two characters have already fought against one another. What’s surprising is the fact that when Gojo fought against Mahoraga, he was greatly outnumbered. In fact, he took down Mahoraga in a three versus one battle. During this fight, Gojo was taking on Sukuna, Agito, and Mahoraga at the same time.
What’s more, the version of Mahoraga that Gojo was fighting was much stronger than the version that fans saw in the Shibuya arc. Furthermore, Gojo even fought Mahoraga with just one arm and completely demolished it in battle. Gojo was absolutely strutting his stuff in this battle and was in his prime, landing one Black Flash after another and, eventually, destroying the shikigami with his incredible Hollow Purple.
