The three acts that make upInscryptionare radically different, both in story and gameplay. Act 3 looks and plays a lot like Act 1 withless card variety, but uses mechanics already found in Act 2. Like in Act 1, it’s possible to buff a single card and break the game, but like in Act 2, a lot of emphasis is placed on finding good combos between different cards.
InscryptionAct 3 inherits a lot of mechanics from the previous acts, as well as giving space to some returning characters andeven some puzzles. Being a mix of the previous chapters, Act 3 is truly the perfect finale for this story.
10Fishbot: Go Fish
An evolution of the Angler from acts 1 and 2, the Fishbot is a 1-power, 3-health card with a reasonable cost of 3 energy. On top of being an effective tank in and of itself, once the Fishbot is killed, it will literallyfish out one random fish into the player’s hand:Good Fish, Bad Fish, or More Fish.
Good Fish is one of the best cards in Act 3, powerful enough to justify its high cost of 6 energy. Sadly, it’s also the rarest of Fishbot’s rewards. The other two rewards, Bad Fish and More Fish, are nothing special. The first is a very bad card with a high cost. Meanwhile, the second isn’t great, but it gives the player one random fish once defeated, just like the Fishbot.
9Shieldbot: Just A Shield
Shieldbot is a simple 1-power, 1-health bot with a free one-time shield. Being able to survive any attack (given that it’s the first attack it receives) makes this card idealagainst certain itemsand bosses that would normally empty the entire board.
RELATED:Inscryption: Tips For Beating Act 1
With acost of just 2 energy and the ability to resist two attacks,Shieldbot is the ideal card for buying time. It’s not going to win any battle by itself, but it can resist until the player has enough energy to send reinforcements.
8Energy Bot, For A Faster Deck
The humble Energy Botlets the player add one Energy to their resource pool.Even better, that energy will raise the maximum energy cap, the same way that the cap raises by one each round.
Playing the Energy Bot literally puts the player one turn ahead of their adversary, though its low stats of 0 power and 1 health make it of little use later in the match. Still, this card is available early in Act 3, and will remain a centerpiece in the deck of most players.
7Sentry Drone: An Offensive Defense
The Sentry Drone is a simple card: with 0 power and 1 health, its only offensive ability comes from its Sentry sigil. This means that every time a card is played or moved in front of it, that card will receive 1 damage.
1 damage to every card played in a single lane can be destructive against a deck full of brittle cards, but it gets even better if the Sentry Drone is given the Guardian or Touch of Death sigils. With both active at the same time, the Sentry Drone will kill just about any card the moment they come into play.
6Qu177: The Weird Transformation
Qu177 is a weird, weird card. Starting as a 2-power, 2-health unit and costing 5 energy, after one round it transforms into a 1/2 with the Sharp Quill sigil. This means that Qu177 turns from a straightforward offensive card to a defensive one, dealing 1 damage once it gets hit and 1 once it attacks.
The ideal use of Qu177 is to place it in an empty line and let it attack the adversary for 2 damage, and then use it to tank damage from the enemy’s cards.
5Double Gunner: An Easy 4 Damage
A seemingly straightforward card, the Double Gunner doesn’t have great stats, with only 2 power and 1 health. But with its Bifurcated Strike sigil, it can deal a potential 4 damage per round.
RELATED:Inscryption: Tips Every Player Should Know
Its high cost of6 energymight make it look like a waste of resources, but Double Gunner’s Bifurcated Strike isn’t just for doubling damage. This sigil lets clever players deal with bombs and traps without sacrificing a card.It can also be used to free a line to place a heavy hitter and let them attack the adversary directly.
4Lonely Wizbot: The Unpredictable Glass Cannon
The Lonely Wizard is the card-ification (and bot-ification) of the Lonely Wizard character from act 2. In his card form, the Lonely Wizbot is a 2-power, 1-health glass cannon with the Clinger sigil, meaningit moves right next to a newly placed card every time a new one is played.
This card might sound like a recipe for disaster, but in some circumstances, its sigil can become quite helpful. One such case is when the player needs to block two attacks, but only has one card to play. Since the Lonely Wizbot deals 2 damage, he might not even have to sacrifice himself.
3Build-a-Card, And How To Build It
Build-a-Card is an event taking place in the Resplendent Bastion area of Act 3. The eventallows players to sacrifice a card to create a new one, adding a welcomeelement of deckbuildingtoInscryption.Build-a-Card is similar to the card modification events of the first act, but it’s much harder to abuse it to create a game-breaking card.
Best Build-a-Card Builds
The best builds for Build-a-Card cost nothing to play and have terrible stats, but great sigils. A good combo isTouch of Death, Brittle, and Unkillable, making the card kill its adversary and come back in the player’s hand after every attack. Players also want a negative sigil like Annoying to be able to build this card easily.
2Mycobot: The Mycologist’s Creation
This creepy creation reminds players thatInscyptionis a horror game, even if it isn’t always scary. The Mycobot is created during the Mycologist’s secret boss fight. To access this fight, the player must first have obtained the Mycologist’s key in Act 2.

While most of it comes down to luck, there are a couple of tricks to getting a good Mycobot card. The first is simple:don’t let the Mycobot die.The second is to have a card with low cost and good sigils in the center of the board and cards with good stats to its sides. The Mycobot will take cost and sigils from that cheap card while the other cards will add their stats and, randomly, might add some of their sigils as well.
1Ourobot: The Robot Ouroboros
The Ourobot isAact 3’s version of the Ouroboros, a card present in both the precedent acts.Just like in Act 1,every time it dies, it comes back in the player’s hand with +1 to power and health. It’s especially strong now, because the overall power level is lower than in the previous chapters. And because the Ouroboros keeps this bonus between acts, it’s even stronger than before.
Where to find Ourobot in Inscryption, Act 3
Getting the Ouroborosis a challenge in every act it appears in. During Act 3, the Ourobot card can be found in the Cuckoo Clock. The clue with appear at a certain point during the chapter, but those who want this powerful card sooner can just set the clock’s hands at 4 hours and 0 minutes.
Inscryptionis available now on PC and Playstation 4/5, and will be released on Switch in December 2022.
