No one is stopping you from throwing these items away or not picking them up in the first place, but the soul of a true survival fan will not always allow them to do this. For those willing to part with these pieces of junk,Fallout 4offers two ways toscrap items, breaking them down into component resources that can be used in crafting.
How To Scrap Junk In Fallout 4
To begin with, it is worth clarifying that the items in the game can be divided into two groups:helpful itemsandJunk. Here’s a look at two ways to scrap Junk inFallout 4:
In the first case, you should go to your settlement and throw the items you want to scrap onto the ground. Next, open theWorkshop menuand go to the discarded items. Hover over the item and press R or Square/X, depending on your platform. After this, the Junk will be disassembled, and the components will be moved to theWorkshop storage.
Alternatively, you can go directly to theWorkshop stationand interact with it to quickly scrap all the items and receive their components. To do this, you only need to press the key at the bottom of the screen opposite the Store All Junk inscription. All unnecessary items from your inventory will be placed entirely in the Workshop, but if necessary, they will be scrapped automatically. More precisely, these items will always be available in the Workshop storage. These resources will not take up space in your inventory or burden you with weight, but you can always use them when you decide to repair, build, or craft something.
How To Scrap Weapons And Armor In Fallout 4
Traveling through the world ofFallout 4, you will finddozens of gunsand durable equipment. They will take up a lot of space in your inventory and weigh you down with the extra weight. Thankfully, you can also scrap them into parts.
To scrap weapons, you should use theWeapon Workbench. Interact with this station,select an unnecessary weapon, and press the key at the bottom of the screen opposite the Scraps inscription, depending on your platform. As for armor, the process is the same; you will just have to find and use theArmor Workbench.
