InFallout 76, Strangler Heart is a variant of Ultracite Power Armor covered in a poisonous plant called Strangler vein. It is the strongest Power Armor in the entire Appalachia in terms of Radiation Resistance thanks to its 500 rad reduction. Strangler Heart is also quite resilient against Physical and Electrical damage, with 453 resistance for the former and 393 for the latter.

However, after theWastelanders update in 2020, Strangler Heart became a rare suit because it was no longer obtainable through Vault Raids. The patch left many players wondering how they should get a full set. This guide, therefore, covers everything survivors need to know about getting the Strangler Heart inFallout 76using the latest methods.
How to Get the Strangler Heart Power Armor in Fallout 76
Now that the Vault Raids are discontinued, the only way to get the Strangler Heart Power Armor is by purchasing its plans for 6,900 Gold Bullion. For that, players must either visit Regs at Vault 79 or speak toMinerva at her random spawn locations.
Buying the Strangler Heart plans from Minerva is cheaper. She sells all six blueprints for 4,176 Gold Bullion, not 6,900.
How to Get Vault Steel to Craft Strangler Heart
Before the Wastelanders update, Vault Steel was rewarded in Raids. Currently, though, players can only obtain Vault Steel through in-game transactions. They must pay 10 Scrips to Purveyor at the Rusty Rick to get 5 Vault Steel, which can only be done once per day.
In total, 180 Vault Steel is required to craft the Strangler Heart Power Armor, 30 per piece. Thankfully, equipping the Power Smithperk cardreduces that to 162 or 27 per piece.
How to Get the Strangler Heart Mods in Fallout 76
Strangler Heart and Ultracite share the same mods. In order to get them, players must farm Scorchbeasts or Scorchbeast Queens, collecting the mods from their drops. It’s important to note that Ultracite and Strangler Heart modifications are rare though. The highest drop rate for them is a meager 7%.
Is the Strangler Heart Power Armor Worth it?
Strangler Heart has two major advantages: It is incredibly Radiation-resistant, and it radiates poison damage (acid). Even so, considering the cost of buying, crafting, and repairing it, Strangler Heart is far fromthe best Power Armor out there.
The Excavator Power Armor, for example, is cheaper, easier to obtain, and less complicated to repair. As with most other items though, it is the player’s needs and wants that determine the best choice. The Strangler Heart Power Armor could be an excellent device forFallout 76collectors or explorers because it’s both unique-looking and rad-resistant.
Fallout 76is available now for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
