Huohuo is the second limited-time gacha 5-star Abundance character to be released inHonkai: Star Rail, expanding the otherwise quite limited Abundance character roster. As with many other characters, Huohuo can offer much more than healing. Primarily, she takes on a support role as an ATK stat buffer and provides energy regeneration for one of the allies, similar to Tingyun. With this being the case, Huohuo can fit into many team compositions, especially those that benefit from such ATK buffs or rely on utilizing Ultimates as often as possible.
The most ideal team composition to utilize Huohuo generally depends on players' existing roster and which characters they have, especially in terms of their hypercarry DPS characters. Generally speaking, Huohuo’s team compositions should consist of amain DPS character, combined with support units that can provide different buffs. Here are some of Huohuo’s best team compositions inHonkai: Star Railwith no significant priority order. It’s worth noting that, many of the support characters included are interchangeable between the teams, however to bring a variety, each character except Huohuo is only included at one composition.
5Huohuo + Seele + Silver Wolf + Bronya
As a character highly reliant on her Ultimates, Seele can highly benefit from utilizing Huohuo to ensure she can use it as often as possible.In this team composition, combined with Bronya’s DMG and Crit Buff, Seele is able to buff herself exponentially, since this is something she particularly requires. Unlike many other hyper carry characters that are released after her, she doesn’t have easy access to buffing herself on her own, except for her conditional Talent.
Silver Wolf, on the other hand, can be highly beneficial to decrease the defense of the enemies, while also implanting them with a specific elemental weakness. While both Bronya and Huohuo don’t particularly deal damage, if the opponent already has a Wind weakness, this composition simply guarantees Quantum weakness to be implanted, further increasing Seele’s damage potential.
4Huohuo + Jing Yuan + Topaz + Asta
Another DPS character that can benefit from Huohuo is Jing Yuan, since most of his damage comes from the Lightning Lordfollow-up attackand relies on Ultimates to stack and activate it as soon as possible. Utilizing Jing Yuan with Huohuo can enable him to deal more damage with Lightning Lord even faster. Furthermore, since Jing Yuan’s DPS suffers a lot if he is crowd-controlled, Huohuo’s dispel can also allow him to get back on track more easily.
In this team composition, Topaz is another character that can increase Jing Yuan’s follow-up damage while also providing sub-DPS potential. Considering that Topaz is a skill-point-friendly character, similar to Huohuo, Jing Yuan can focus on utilizing his Skill every turn without needing to worry as much about the skill points. Asta is another support character that can work well for both Jing Yuan and Topaz, as she can not only increase their ATK even further but also provide speed for the entire team, as well as Fire DMG bonus for Topaz as well.
3Huohuo + Kafka + Tingyun + Sampo
Kafka is another excellent hypercarry option that can benefit greatly from Huohuo, especially when combined with Tingyun, since she doesn’t benefit from any Crit buffs like some other characters do, making them more reliant on others like Bronya. With that being the case, Kafka benefits significantly from utilizing her Ultimate as often as possible to be able to detonate the DoT stacks on the enemies. As such, Tingyun and Huohuo combined can consistently enable Kafka’s Ultimate, added with the DMG and ATK buffs provided.
To further increase the DoT implants, players can utilize Sampo as the last option, who can also perform as a Sub-DPS. However, it’s worth noting that, in battles that benefit more from utilizing a Physical character over a Wind one, players may want to considerutilizing Luka over Sampo, since they both bring a similar benefit to the party and Kafka in particular.
2Huohuo + Jingliu + Pela + Fu Xuan
Considering that Jingliu drains HP from other characters, having a healer in the team that can provide AoE healing is highly recommended, and in this case, Huohuo fits the bill very well. Additionally,Jingliu can also benefit well from the ATK and Energy Regenerationthat Huohuo provides to increase her damage, similar to many other DPS characters included in this list. For the other support roles, players have a lot of variety, with Pela being one of the most suitable options to consider, thanks to being able to shred DEF from the enemies. Additionally, Fu Xuan can be included in the last spot, since while she is a defensive character, she can also provide a Crit Rate buff, and even a Crit DMG buff if players have access to her first eidolon, giving her an added buff role on top. Fu Xuan is also able to sustain herself upon dropping below 50% HP, which can come in quite handy often with Jingliu’s drain and can prevent team members from being knocked down, especially if the enemies are utilizing strong single-target attacks in particular.
Those that do not have access to Fu Xuan may also want to consider other defensive characters instead, such as March 7th or Gepard, especially againstenemies that are weak to Ice. Overall, it’s worth noting that this team composition is quite skill-point friendly, with Fu Xuan and Pela only needing to utilize skills once every 2 turns, allowing Huohuo to sustain the team’s HP at high levels without being in a pinch if needed.
1Huohuo + Imbibitor Lunae + Welt + Yukong
While Luocha may be a better option for mono Imaginary teams, Huohuo can still provide a lot of benefits for this team composition with her buffs. In this team composition, both Yukong and Huohuo can be utilized to increase Imbibitor Lunae’s attack, while Yukong can further provide Crit Rate and Crit DMG buff for him on top of boosting his Imaginary DMG. Huohuo’s Energy regeneration buff can come quite handy for Imbibitor Lunae, since he is otherwise quite skill point heavy, and his Ultimate does help with this significantly.
Lastly, Welt is another great unit to include with Imbibitor Lunae, especially ifhe is equipped with the 4-piece Wastelander of Banditry Desertset, as Welt has the ability to imprison enemies with his Ultimate, even if enemies don’t have Imaginary weakness.
