During theSeptember 2023 PlayStation State of Play, HoYoverse officially announced thatHonkai: Star Railwill hit the PlayStation 5 platform this Jul 09, 2025. The game’s trailer presented during the show highlighted many of its current characters, locations, and features. HoYoverse also published several official posts on its website, answering any basic questions that fans may have.Honkai: Star Railwill remain free-to-play on the PlayStation 5, and will still require an internet connection to play. What’s more, saved data from a single account can be transferable between devices, but not in between the game’s servers.
HoYoverse also opened up a pre-registration period for the PS5 version ofHonkai: Star Rail, and as of writing, over 814,000 gamers have already signed up. According to the site, hitting certain pre-registration milestones will award PlayStation 5 players with in-game items, but rewards will also be given to current fans across all devices to celebrate the occasion. All in all, it seems like an exciting time for fans of the gacha role-playing game, especially if they have really been waiting to play it on the next-gen console.
