The recent announcement ofMinecraft’s Steve and Alex joining theSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateroster has quickly taken the Nintendo community by storm. However, one thing that Nintendo didn’t go into to much detail on with the reveal is how thesix biomes in theMincraftlevelwill work or be accessible within the game once the DLC releases.
A recent tweet by the officialSuper Smash Bros.Twitter account has given fans slightly more information about what they can expect to find when the new level arrives alongside Steve. The new post shows a simple look at theMinecraftinspired stage and how players will be able to interact with the level in order to choose which of the six biomes they want to play on through the selection screen.

According to this new image, the six biomes will be accessible by entering specific commands on the stage selection screen when choosing theMinecraftstage. It makes sense that Nintendo would want to make the selection easy, considering the work that already went into both this stage, as well asevery otherSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatestage, in order to accommodate for the introduction of Steve. The process itself requires players to hold the L button while selecting the stage, with other buttons like R for the forest biome, or holding down on the left joystick for the snow biome. All six commands can be found in the below image:
This isn’t the first time that theSuper Smash Bros.series has installed a secret menu selection to give players the ability to more directly choose some of the more dynamic aspects of the game. One example would be the introduction of Zero Suit Samus inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl, which gave players the option to start in this form by holding a specific button while selecting the character. In the case of thenewMinecraftDLC, this was likely done out of convenience as to not overload the stage selector, with some features of previous games making the new content easier to manage.
While every fan continues to build theirwish list of futureSmash Bros.fighters, the addition ofMinecraft’s Steve and Alex checks off a number of players' biggest requests. In this case, going all out with all six of these biomes with theMinecraftstage is a strong step forward towards giving players everything they want out of theSmash Bros.series. With any luck, the reception of this new DLC will encourage Nintendo to continue looking at new massive franchises for the next set of fighters.
