Normally, the possibility of finding Samples helps motivate users to play the game and earn these powerful upgrades; however, some fans are having this aspect of the game ruined for them.
Reddit user diceNslice posted a screenshot to theHelldivers 2subreddit, which showed their payout screen after completing a mission with a cheater they had been matched with. The user’s rewards were massive, earning 608 Common Samples, 644 Rare Samples, and 160 Super Samples. And this is pretty tame compared to the spoils of other cheaters, as some have reported earning upwards of 15,000 total Samples after being matched with one. For now, Arrowhead recommends affected users to contact customer support, which can help revert a user’s Samples to the correct amount.
Helldivers 2’s Issue with Sample Cheats
This is understandably frustrating to fans of thewildly popularHelldivers 2, which features unlocks and progression as some of its main rewards for playing. It’s safe to assume that Arrowhead Game Studios is working on or planning to implement a solution to this problem, although it could be a while until cheating issues like this one are truly solved. SinceHelldivers 2’s February 8 release, Arrowhead has been swamped by the game’s massive player numbers, which created issues that are only beginning to be solved.
