The battle royale genre remains one of the most popular in the entire video game industry, with some of the biggest games in the world being BR titles likeApex Legends,Call of Duty: Warzone, andFortnite. Considering how popular battle royale game are, many have been anticipatingHalo Infiniteto follow suit with its own take on the genre, but that has yet to happen. While it remains to be seen ifHalo Infinitewill ever deliver a full-blown battle royale mode, a leaked new game mode does seem to be testing the waters.
Dataminers have found evidence of a newHalo Infinitegame mode called Last Spartan Standing. Apparently, theHalo InfiniteLast Spartan Standing mode will essentially be a Free for All variant ofBig Team Battle, where players are able to “level-up” their loadout. Some have taken this to mean that the mode will actually have more in common withCall of Duty’s Gun Game as opposed to a traditional battle royale, but that remains to be seen.

On paper,Halo Infinite’s Last Spartan Standing modesounds like a small-scale take on the battle royale concept, but fans will have to wait and see it in practice before they can be sure. As for whenHalo Infinite’s Last Spartan Standing mode may make it into the game, that remains to be seen as well, but many seem to think that it will be coming at some point during Season 2.
Halo InfiniteSeason 2is scheduled to start on May 3, bringing with it new content to the free-to-player multiplayer shooter. 343 Industries has not pulled the curtain back on all the new content coming toHalo Infinitewith Season 2’s start, but fans do know that it will be missing one of its promised features. Unfortunately, it was announced that 343 has had to delayHalo Infinitecampaign co-op after it was previously said to be coming with the start of Season 2.
Halo Infinitecampaign co-opwas originally expected to be in the game at launch, only for 343 to make the tough decision to delay it. Fans then expectedHalo Infinitecampaign co-op to arrive with the start of Season 2, but while that’s not happening, the feature is still expected to come at some point during the season. WhenHalo Infinitecampaign co-op is added to the game, it will feature 4-player online co-op and 2-player split-screen.
So regardless of when exactly this leaked Last Spartan Standing mode is coming toHalo Infinite, Season 2 should still have plenty for fans to look forward to. Beyond that, there’s also theHalo InfiniteForge modein the works as well, believed to be dropping by the end of the year.
