Guild Wars 2is riding high after the success ofEnd of Dragons, its third major expansion pack. In a recent press release,Guild Wars 2revealed its current plans for the MMORPG through summer and early autumn, with the next content patch right around the corner.

ArenaNet’s studio update for July provided a roadmap for the next couple of months inGuild Wars 2. In addition to long-term goals throughout the summer, it provided information about its next update going live on July 19th and teased an appearance at Gamescom.

First and foremost,Living World Season 1’sthird episode, “Clockwork Chaos,” arrives in the upcoming patch. Scarlet Briar makes her bombshell debut on the scene and establishes herself as a major threat to Lion’s Arch and the world at large. The new episode will be permanently free for all players, as is therest ofLiving World Season 1inGuild Wars 2.

Guild Wars 2is also adjusting several game mechanics across the title. Several low-level world bosses from the original zones–the Great Jungle Wurm, Shadow Behemoth, Svanir Shaman Chieftain, and Fire Elemental–will have their mechanics revamped for the first time in 10 years by using new systems and design philosophies to improve them. Additionally,Guild Wars 2is adjusting raid rewardsand combinations of Fractal Instabilities in a continued attempt to make endgame content more approachable.

That’s not allGuild Wars 2has planned. August 2nd marks the beginning of the Festival of the Four Winds event and adds the Kralkatorrik Legendary Weapon skins and a balance update. The fourth episode ofLiving World Season 1drops on September 13th, butGuild Wars 2fans should keep an eye out for the end of August.Guild Wars 2’s10th anniversary is on August 23rd, with Gamescom 2022 happening right after. It is possible ArenaNet has something big planned for the event, such as anannouncement forGuild Wars 2’sfourth expansion pack.

Guild Wars 2players are excited about the upcoming game patch. Though no truly new content has come out sinceEnd of Dragons, the various updates have improved the base elements of the game in noticeable ways, such as by re-adding and revamping old content. ArenaNet has big plans for the game’s future; in addition to confirming its fourth expansion is in development already,Guild Wars 2is officially coming to Steam soon. This new platform will open upGuild Wars 2’ssolid community to a whole new market of gamers.
