Developer Spiders Studio has announced that its RPGGreedFallwill be officially released on the new generation of consoles.GreedFallwill also receive an entirely new expansion titled The De Vespe Conspiracy.
Originally released in 2019,GreedFallwas an RPG that saw players exploring an entirely new continent while learning about the people and factions at play in its culture. While taking a side in the war being fought between the natives and the colonizers, players also are tasked with finding the cure for a deadly plague terrorizing everyone in the land. The game received a favorable reception from most critics and fans, with many fans singingpraises forGreedFall’s companionsand storylines.

The new expansion unlocks an unexplored region of the land of Teer Fradee. The expansion includes an entirely new story that picks up whereGreedFall’s ended and introduces the player to a complicated web of lies and political intrigue that threatens to upheave the power structure in all of Teer Fradee. While playing through the story players will also find new equipment, face new enemies, and learn about an entirely new faction in the world ofGreedFall. However, it isGreedFall’s new versionthat gives Spiders Studio a lot of potential to upgradeGreedFalls’s experience.
The new version ofGreedFallcoming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, calledGreedFall: Gold Edition, and includes The De Vespe Conspiracy but also brings with it a variety of technical improvements.GreedFall: Gold Editionboasts enhanced visuals at native 4k resolution, improved performance and frame rate, and dramatically decreased load times. Forplayers new toGreedFall,GreedFall: Gold Editionwill also be available on PC and older consoles, and it includes the DLC without the technical improvements. Any players who do upgrade from a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version will also be able to transfer their saves toGreedFall: Gold Edition.
The announcement thatGreedFallwas receiving a next-generation upgrade was a surprise for many fans when it was announced last year, but the new expansion is also a good treat forGreedFallfans regardless of their platform. Of course, Spiders Studio also has the action RPGSteelRisingin the works without an announced release window, so it is a good time to be a fan of Spiders Studio and its particular flavor of action RPGs. Hopefully, the developers will have some news on when fans can expect to get their hands onSteelRisingsometime soon.
GreedFall: Gold Editionreleases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 30. The De Vespe Conspiracy releases on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on the same day.
