Summary

Gran Turismo 7was just updated to Version 1.38, and it’s offering a ton of new content. It’s mostly similar in structure toGran Turismo 7Version 1.29, which came out seven months prior.

Gran Turismo 7is the latest main entry in theGran Turismoseries of racing titles, best known for emulating the look and feel of numerous real-world race car models and becoming the bestselling PlayStation-exclusive IP of all time. It was released cross-gen in 2022 as the first main game in almost a decade, receiving mostly praise for its presentation and handling, but criticism for its usage of modern trends such as microtransactions and the always-online DRM, as well as the emphasis on grinding to unlock content. Still, it became the fastest-sellingGran Turismotitle, and it seems Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive want to keep the hype going not justvia theGran Turismomovie, but also via adding new content to the latest game.

As detailed on the officialGran Turismosite, Version 1.38 offers a slew of new content forGran Turismo 7. It includes three new cars, including two Hondas and a Mazda, while two Toyotas were added to Brand Central, and liveries were added to three existing Mazdas. In addition, three new racetracks were added as events to the game’s World Circuit mode––Grand Valley: Highway 1, Dragon Trail, and Mount Panorama––and the Fiat and Nissan got new representation in Brand Central. Some new browsable menus were also added to the Café and players can now converse with various car designers and other characters upon interacting with specific models.

Furthermore, Version 1.38 adds brand-new engine swaps for various cars. They’re all reserved for players at Level 50 or higher, but thankfully there areefficient methods to grind experience inGran Turismo 7. Hondata, Aim, and Checkered Sports also became available in decal form, and several gameplay bugs and translation errors were ironed out too. A weather radar was added to the Quick Menu, and a countdown is now present whenever a car is replaced on the track. Legend Cars also had their prices altered based on their real-world monetary value.

While updates like this one are par for the course with titles like this, it should nonetheless be intriguing to see what effects, if any, Version 1.38 hasonGran Turismo 7’s multiplayermeta.
