Fans ofGodfallwho were hoping the game would be a little gentler on their pockets than some other PS5 exclusives are getting bad news. The upcoming action RPG will be $69.99, joining thenext-gen price jumptrend, and that’s just for Standard Edition.

Despite being one of the first games announced for the PS5, information aboutGodfallhas been scarce since its initial trailer, and it’s only recently that the devs are delving into things like how combat will work in its mysterious fantasy world. The game has had its fair share of marketing, but many would-be players are still on the fence about buying a game that hasn’t given them a lot to go on quite yet.

The price tag may be another factor against the game, even ifGodfall’s combat mechanics explanationdid impress some fans. Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing announcedGodfall’s pricing today and opened up both digital and physical pre-orders through Best Buy, GameStop, and the PlayStation Store. The game itself will launch on November 12, just like the PS5.

The Standard Edition ofGodfallwill go for $69.99, the Deluxe Edition for $89.99, and the Ascended Edition for $99.99. All of the game’sPS5 pre-orderswill come with a Starter Pack containing in-game equipment to help kickstart players' looting adventures; Chrome Silvermane, Phoenix and Greyhawk skin cosmetics; Zer0’s sword fromBorderlands;and a Red Valorplate skin for Typhon. Deluxe Edition includes “day-one” access to the game’s first DLC in 2021, and Ascended Edition includes the free DLC and gold-themed in-game items. Whether Ascended Edition is really worth paying $100 for some gold items is something customers will have to decide for themselves.

Some people may find themselves unsurprised byGodfall’s PS5 price, since earlier listings pointed to the editions having this price. Now, however, the prices are confirmed and the games are being pre-ordered. Some people are theorizing that Sony is trying to keep its PS5 pricing uniform, which is bad news for customers who were hoping for cheaper games on this next-gen console.

Thenext-gen game price increaseis not something many consumers appreciate, although some production companies and publishers explain that since they’re spending more money on making the games, they need customers to pay more to recoup the costs. Some people are wondering if game prices will ever reach a ceiling, or if they’ll just keep ballooning as studios invest more and more into their games.

Godfallwill be available on November 12 for PC and PlayStation 5.
