Genshin Impact’s new major update is scheduled for August 24 which means that the arrival of the mysterious Sumeru region is just around the corner. The new update will introduce three new characters, Tighnari, Collei, and Dori, as well as the long-awaited Dendro element.

Even though the three characters are yet to arrive,Genshin Impacthas already revealed a couple of new characters that should arrive in update 3.1. The game’s official Twitter account has finally revealed the splash art for three characters: Cyno, Nilou and Candace.

Genshin Impact Nilou Cyno and Candace

Even though there is no official information about their rarity, Cyno and Nilou are expected to be five-star characters while Candace will have a lower rarity. The design of all the characters seems to be based on the traditional outfit of the Middle East and Ancient Egypt which led many players to believe thatGenshin Impactupdate 3.1could introduce the desert parts of Sumeru. Out of the three characters, Cyno is the by far most popular one considering that he was mentioned in numerous leaks since the game arrived back in September 2020.

His headpiece resembles the head of Anubis who served as the God of the Underworld in Ancient Egypt.PreviousGenshin Impactleakshave revealed that Cyno’s elemental skill will allow him to dash forward dealing Electro damage. The fact that the skill has a very low cooldown has led many players to believe that Cyno will be a new DPS character. According to one of the tweets, the star of the famous Zubayr Theater, Nilou, will be a new Hydro character.

Even though the splash art does not show her weapon, multiple gameplay leaks have confirmed that Nilou will be a new sword character. Her elemental skill allows her to perform four sword slashes dealing Hydro damage. Unlike Cyno, her cooldowns seem pretty long which means that she will probably be a new support orsub-DPS character inGenshin Impact. A couple of leaks have also been hinting that players can turn her into the main damage dealer but to do so, they have to unlock all of her constellations.

The third character, Candace, is confirmed to be a Hydro polearm character, and multiple replies in the comment section claim that she is clearly based on the famous Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. According to previous leaks, Candace will have the ability to create shields which means that she will probably be a new support or healer. All three characters are expected to arrive onGenshin Impactversion 3.1which is scheduled for September 28.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
