WhileGenshin Impactdoesn’t offer PvP, one adventurous player recently took to social media to demonstrate a reliable way of killing unsuspecting co-op teammates by triggering some basic elemental reactions using Nahida. The discovery of this unusual griefing method arrives at thepeak of Nahida’s popularity, fueled by her first-ever banner run inGenshin Impact.
Dendro Archon Nahida is one of the most recent additions toGenshin Impact’sever-growing hero roster. She debuted in the game on November 2 as part of a limited character banner that also included Yoimiya, another five-star character. This bannerbrokeGenshin Impact’sall-time revenue recordwithin weeks of releasing, as the player base apparently jumped at the opportunity to pull one of the game’s first truly powerful Dendro users.

Apart from her all-around great stats and Dendro-related utility value, it turns out that Nahida is even capable of killing co-op teammates inGenshin Impact, as demonstrated by a gameplay video recently shared by Reddit user TiltOnPlay. The brief footage shows the author using Nahida’s normal Dendro attack to trigger a Burning reaction on an allied Zhongli by hitting a Mondstadt stove in their immediate vicinity, presumably while the other player was cooking. With a single hit amounting to over 1,600 damage, the author of the video only took around ten attacks to take out their teammate using AoE Pyro damage.
Nahida isn’t the only character that could theoretically be used to replicate this teammate-killing technique, but she’s definitely one of the easiest options, given how her normal attacks are already infused with Dendro. Either way, considering how the method requires an unsuspecting teammate to stand next to a Pyro source for around ten seconds at a minimum, its griefing potential is already fairly limited. So, while HoYoverse previously established a precedent fornerfing overbearing environmental damage inGenshin Impact, it’s unlikely that this particular use of Dendro will warrant such a response from the developer.
WhileGenshin Impactis about as removed from a PvP experience as a gacha game can be, HoYoverse recently added the first-ever PvP functionality to its hit RPG in the form ofthe Genius Invokation TCG. Debuted in early December, this new permanent gameplay mode allows taking on both NPCs and other players in a series of elaborate card battles that are essentially a game within a game. Beyond the new TCG, however, HoYoverse hasn’t yet given any indication that it plans to add more PvP features toGenshin Impact.
