A newGenshin Impactleak gives more details about one of the upcoming characters named Lyney. The game’s recent live stream event for update 3.8 has revealed a new teaser for the new major region Fontaine which is expected to arrive in the next few months.

The release of each newGenshin Impactregion always includes tons of new characters, most of whom join the playable roster. A new post on theGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit has given more information about a new character named Lyney who has been rumored since 2020 when he was featured in one of the earliest teasers. According to the new leak, Lyney is a magician who works for the Fontaine Opera House with this assistant Lynette whose appearance has also been officially revealed. Even though he seems very friendly and talkative at first glance, Lyney is actually very cunning and tends to lie a lot. The only person he cares about is his sister Lynette whose well-being is Lyney’s top priority. When it comes to his power on the field, recentGenshin Impactleakshave revealed that he will be a new DPS character with a damage potential that ranges from Tighnari to Ganyu.

Rumors have also revealed thatLyney will be a Pyro characterwho uses the bow as his primary weapon. Lyney is expected to be the first five-star character to join the roster in the upcoming Fontaine region. There is a chance that he and his sister Lynette will be the two characters to introduce Traveler to Fontaine, similar to Tighnari’s and Collei’s roles in Sumeru.

Unlike Lyney who will apparently have a five-star rarity, his sister Lynette will be a four-star character. She will apparently be equipped with an Anemo Vision. These two characters will likely be accompanied by another four-star unit in theupcomingGenshin Impactversion 4.0.

While HoYoverse is yet to officially announce Fontaine’s exact release date, going by previous patterns, players can expect the Hydro nation to arrive around mid-August. According to therecentGenshin Impactteaser videos, the Fontaine nation will be filled with lakes and rivers which makes sense considering that Hydro is its representative element.
