Early leaks have revealed a new expansion to Fontaine’s map set to arrive with the version, bringing another harbor to Fontaine and rumored to add a new weekly boss. The Archon Quest for the update has also suggested there will be a major shift to Furina’s status within the Hydro region. Now, Version 4.2 looks packed with plenty of limited-time content for players to experience.

The update’s main event will reportedly be a battle event involving a new unrevealed NPC named Thelxie, featuring afree copy of Version 4.0 four-star Freminetas a reward. The update is set to feature re-runs of several popular events including the “Kurious Kamera” and “Misty Dungeon” events, as well as the newest iteration ofGenshin Impact’s popular recurring “Fungi” events. Version 4.2 is also rumored to introduce a new non-playable character to the game in Skirk, believed to be Childe’s master.

Alongside the lineup of events, the leak also shares new information about the two recently-revealed featured characters for Version 4.2. Furina will reportedly be able to utilize boththe Pneuma and Ousia elementsofGenshin Impact’s new Arkhe system, switching between the two with her Charged Attack. Charlotte is also confirmed to be introduced as an Ousia-aligned character, joining her previously revealed status as a Cryo Catalyst user. Version 4.2 is currently expected to launch on November 8.

With multiple highly-anticipated characters on the way, Version 4.1 is giving players plenty of ways to save up for their favorites. The update will feature several events includingthe “Waterborne Poetry” event, whisking players back to Mondstadt and Liyue for a joint poetry festival. Version 4.1 will also roll out this year’s anniversary rewards, featuring two campaigns rewarding players with up to 10 Intertwined Fates and 1600 Primogems. With a plethora of events on the way,Genshin Impactplayers should have no problem racking up plenty of Primogems.
