PreviousGenshin Impactupdates have introduced the famous islands of Inazuma and fans were expecting a small content drought for at least a couple of updates. However, it seems as though developer miHoYo has no plans to slow down as the recent 2.5 live stream confirmed the arrival of a new region by the name Chasm
A recent post by a credible leaker has revealed more information about the upcomingGenshin Impactregion Chasm which is scheduled to arrive in update 2.6. The tweet reveals that Chasm will apparently be divided in two halves, the upper part of the Teyvat overworld and the lower underground mines. The mines will work as a separate map instance similar to thepopularGenshin Impactregion Enkanomiya, which means that players will most likely have the option to teleport directly to it.

According to multiple map leaks, Chasm will apparently have an interesting radial design with six new teleport points, including anew Statue of The Seven. The name Chasm has been a part of the current map of Teyvat for a long time now and players were speculating for months about what this new region might bring in the future. Even though this region seems to have a lot of explorable terrain, multiple rumors have been hinting that it will serve as a bridging point between Liyue and a new major nation by the name Sumeru. The story that revolves around Chasm will apparently serve as an introduction to the nation of Sumeru.
So far, every Genshin Impact nation has its own around respective Archon and its divine ideals. In the case of Sumeru, the God of Wisdom rules in the pursuit of all knowledge. Even though he is one of the rare leaders whose identity hasn’t been revealed yet, it is well known that Sumeru’s Archon is the youngest out of thesevenGenshin ImpactArchons. In addition, each nation favors a particular element that the Archon originates from.
Considering that the representative element is Dendro, players can expect a very flowery and plant-like environment in Sumeru. Dendro is the onlyGenshin Impactelementthat isn’t attached to any playable character at the moment. However, these leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt considering that miHoYo is yet to officially confirm the arrival of a new major region.
Genshin Impactis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
