Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
The Spark Knight of the Knights of Favonius may be one of the smallestGenshin Impactcharacters, but her strength should not be underestimated. Blessed with a Pyro Vision and love for explosives, Klee can be a force to reckon with on the battlefield.

Klee’s best team composition inGenshin Impactis rather simple, but sadly, the same can’t be said about her mechanics. Although her play style may seem to only revolve around her throwing bombs, she’s actually one of the hardest characters to truly master. For instance, here are some mistakes that are commonly seen among new Klee users.
7Not Knowing How To Cancel Animation
Although Klee probably has one of the clunkiest attacks inGenshin Impact, there are a lot of methods players can use to cancel her animation. This can even be done for her Normal Attacks, where Klee is played in the “Machine Gun” style. To do this, simply move in a direction while using her Normal Attack. This technique requires precise timing and practice but will prove to be worth the time. If properly done, Klee can enjoy up to a 30% DPS increase from this method alone.

Meanwhile, for her Charged Attacks, players can either use dash or jumping. Dashing is far easier to execute, but combining Charged Attacks and dash can have a detrimental effect on the players’ stamina. Therefore, using the jump button is a more-widely practiced.
6Overestimating Klee’s Attack Range
Catalyst andBow users inGenshin Impactare blessed with long-ranged attacks. However, unlike bow characters that are rather similar to one another, there are more varieties among the Catalyst counterparts. For example, people can easily play characters like Ningguang mindlessly, as she can easily hit enemies that are far away. Meanwhile, things aren’t as easy for Klee.
RELATED:Genshin Impact: Bow Weapon Tier List
Klee has one of the shortest ranges among all Catalyst characters. Her small stature also doesn’t help as it means it’d be harder to cover the ground with her tiny legs. Therefore, proper positioning is crucial for Klee. People should consider where she stands to ensure all her attacks hit the enemies. For instance, her Charged Attack has a fixed range, and her Elemental Skill bounces a specific distance.
5Not Having Enough Protection For Klee
Klee’s Charged Attack can easily stagger enemies, so with proper timing, it’s possible for people to stun-lock the enemies by keeping the monsters staggered endlessly. However, this isn’t as simple in practice, especially for new users. Additionally,Genshin Impactbosses may also be immune to the stagger mechanic, putting squishy Klee in grave danger.
To help handle this, players can have a shielder in the team. This will ensure Klee can easily maintain her attack combo while also removing the worry of her getting hit.
4Playing Klee On Elemental Reactions
All of Klee’s hits are Pyro, sotriggering Elemental Reactions with Kleecan be a hard task. Instead, the Spark Knight is better suited as an enabler that allows other units to trigger Elemental Reactions.
Because of this, Klee’s teams are rather simple. Players can easily use Klee in a Mono-Pyro team, where the Pyromaniac is either paired with two Pyro and one Anemo, or one Pyro and two Anemo. For example,Klee + Bennett + Xiangling + KazuhaorKlee + Bennett + Venti + Kazuha. The Mono-Pyro team also means that 4-Lavawalker is an excellent artifact set for Klee.
3Using Wanderer’s Troupe Artifact Set
Charged Attack is a highly important part ofKlee’s kit inGenshin Impact. However, her damage doesn’t solely depend on it. In fact, Klee’s damage is actually spread across all of her abilities, namely her Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst.

Because of this, using a generalist set like 2-Crimson Witch + 2-ATK +18% is the best option for Klee. 4-Crimson Witch isn’t very good because Klee hardly triggers Elemental Reactions, while Wanderer’s Troupe is far too limited to out-perform the generalist set.
2Not Knowing That Klee Can Snapshot
Snapshot is an occurrence where a character’s ability adopts the character’s stat upon cast for the entirety of its duration. For example, let’s say Xiangling normally has 2000 ATK. When she’s buffed by Bennett, her stat increases to 3000 ATK. Then, Xiangling casts her Elemental Burst. Now, ifXiangling steps away from Bennett’s buff field, her Burst will damage the enemy as if Xiangling has 3000 ATK, even though she currently has 2000.
However, if the process is reversed and Xiangling uses her ultimatebeforegetting buffed by Bennett, her Burst will continue dealing damage as if Xiangling has 2000 ATK (even though she currently has 3000).
The same occurrence will happen to Klee. Both Klee’s Elemental Skill and Burst can snapshot, so players should always remember to use a buffer before casting Klee’s abilities. Otherwise, her Skill and Burst will adopt her normal stat instead of her buffed ones.
1Switching Klee Out After Casting Her Elemental Burst
ManyGenshin Impactcharacters excel in the sub-DPS rolethanks to their ability to maintain their ultimate without being on the field. For example, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Yelan are all excellent as off-field DPS.
Sadly, even though Klee’s Elemental Burst may seem similar to the aforementioned characters, her ultimate will disappear if players switch her out of the field. Because of this, Travelers should ensure they set up what they need before using Klee’s Burst, cause once it’s cast, she becomes a selfish unit.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, while a Switch version is in development.
