Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
Before Charlotte’s release inGenshin Impact4.2, there were already three Cryo healers in the game, Qiqi, Mika, and Diona, so Charlotte’s existence in the Cryo healer roster is quite frowned upon. This gets worse after players learn that the Steambird reporter has no special ability that makes her shine, which means she’ll likely end up getting benched instead of seeing the battlefield.
Since Charlotte is rather plain and has no special mechanics inGenshin Impact, unlike a niche support like Mika, the main mistake people can make when using Charlotte is overestimating her.

6Worrying Over Her Focused Impression
When using Charlotte’s Elemental Skill, players can opt for herTaporHoldversion. The Tap applies Snappy Silhouette to up to five opponents, while using Hold will eventually apply Focused Impression. Players canconsider this ability to be similar to Nahida’s, but Charlotte’s Hold takes longer to apply compared to the Dendro Archon’s instant cast. Charlotte’s Focused Impression has a longer duration and higher damage, but generally, these additions are not enough reasons to spend a few precious seconds to cast the ability.
Therefore, players can maximize Charlotte’s Hold Skill if possible, but there’s no need to overly worry about it as it doesn’t come with a significant difference compared to the Tap version.

5Not Minding Her Burst AoE
Charlotte heals any active character in her Burst AoE while also dealing damage to nearby enemies. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the size of this area is really limited. It’s somewhat bigger than Bursts like Diona’s, but it’s still not big enough to bestow convenience in some content like theGenshin ImpactSpiral Abyss. This means Travelers must be mindful of Charlotte’s Burst positioning and ensure that the team won’t be out of the ability’s AoE when healing is desperately needed.
Additionally, the Burst also only lasts for four seconds, so proper positioning is crucial if people wish to hit enemies with the ability.

4Stacking The Wrong Stat
Usually, healers inGenshin Impactscale with HP, but Charlotte is not one of them. Her healing and damage both follow her ATK stat, so players should stack on this offensive stat to maximize both her damage and recovery.
Apart from ATK, Charlotte also benefits from Energy Recharge as this stat is required to quickly regain a character’s Elemental Burst. On Circlet, players can opt for either a Healing Bonus for better healing or Crit pieces for higher damage.

3Using The Wrong Weapon
Not only should people aim for ATK and Energy Recharge when building Charlotte, but it’s also important to consider the utilities of her weapons. For instance, as aCatalyst character inGenshin Impact, Charlotte can wieldThrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, which can grant a massive 48% ATK to the next character players switch to.
However, since she requires a massive 80 Energy for her Ultimate, players can also opt for Energy Recharge weapons likeFavonius Codex. Favonius Codex is great not only for Charlotte’s own Energy Regeneration but also for the team’s overall Energy. If people decide to use theFavonius weapon inGenshin Impact, then it’s important to remember that the equipment will only work with sufficient Crit Rate, so other stats must be sacrificed to make room for Critical chances.

2Stressing Over Her Constellations
Constellations can often be the line between a mediocre character and an overpowered one. For example,Faruzan’s Constellations inGenshin Impacthas one of the most significant increases and can make people feel like she’s an entirely new unit before and after obtaining Faruzan C6.
Sadly, despite being rather average in the first place, Charlotte’s Constellations won’t change her the way some other character’s copy will. Apart from increasing ATK and a small relief of her Energy demand, getting Charlotte’sConstellations inGenshin Impactis far from important.

1Overestimating Her Cryo Application
Some people may think that Charlotte’s selling point is her Cryo enabling, but sadly, although her Cryo application isn’t so bad, it’s not her strong suit either. Players shouldn’t rely on her for Cryo enabling considering:
All in all, it basically means that Charlotte mostly exists for healing and wielding Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers.
