It’s been a pretty slow week for video game news, as the internet cools down from last week’s PlayStation Showcase. However, there was still a decent number of shakeups for Cameron and Anthony to cover on this week’s episode of Game Rant Arcade, with, of course, theirearly opinions onDeathloop, one of the biggest games releasing this year.
Kicking things off,Apple and Epic’s legal disputehas finally been settled, though neither side was the de facto winner. Apple, ultimately, scored more points, by judges ruled that Apple must allow links to third-party payment options. However, it was also ruled that the company isn’t a monopoly – at least not yet.

In other news,PlayStation is done with free PS5 version upgrades.Horizon: Forbidden Westwill be the last PlayStation game to get a free upgrade, but after that, it’ll be $10 for the enhanced version. Fans, predictably, haven’t been pleased with the news. However, it’s unclear how long cross-gen releases will be supported for PlayStation’s new games, withSpider-Man 2being a PS5 exclusive.
Next up,Skull and Bonesdetails leaked, painting an early picture of what the game will be. From the sounds of it, it’s still the game heavily influenced byAssassin’s Creed Black Flagthat many thought it would be, though with vastly expanded ship customization options and less on-foot navigation.
Additionally,Battlefield 2042andDying Light 2were both delayed, with the former moving to November 19 and the latter being pushed all the way to February 2022. It’s a pretty big shake-up to this year’s release calendar, though whileBattlefield 2042’s release date makes sense,Dying Light 2is headed into crowded territory. Lastly, Nvidia GeForce Now leaked a list of games, but they were only “speculative” according to Nvidia itself.
