To make up for the time they wouldn’t be able to play, gamers got the Super Charged XP boost to potentially gain a few extra levels before the end of the season. This made fans confused since they thought they’d be able to play the new season on March 9. To follow up on this, the officialFortniteStatus account quote retweeted theFortniteaccount to try and clarify. It said that downtime for Chapter 4 Season 2 would start at 2 AM ET on March 10, but the last full day of Season 1 across all timezones would be March 8.
There is a lot of speculation among the community with a reasonable amount of players believing the game will go dark on March 8 and only return on March 10, similar to what happenedduring the black hole live event. This could explain why no final event has been announced yet. Many players were perplexed and the comments are clear proof of this. All of the tweets that the officialFortniteaccounts made were unnecessarily confusing, especially since none of them mention March 9.
Cipher quests will be available until March 10, so if the game was to be inaccessible for two days it would seriously hinder players' chances of completing them. Hopefully, Epic Games will make another statement to truly clarify the dates for everyone, and players can make their own playing schedules according to how many tasks they’d like to complete in-game before the end of thisFortniteseason.
