Summary

Fortnite’s Zero Build mode most likely won’t be vaulted next season, but given the fact that another big theory is going around the community, fans are wondering how they’ll reach certain places if the OG map returns and mantling is removed.FortniteChapter 4 Season 4 is reaching its final stage, and soon enough, fans will be entering a brand-new season - perhaps, even a whole new chapter.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the upcomingFortniteseason, and some players believe that it might not be a completely new season after all. Various teasers point in the direction ofFortniteactually going back in time. The in-game time machine displays the date that Chapter 1 Season 5 started, and several props from that time have appeared in Frenzy Fields. As Epic Games releases more teasers, gamers are increasingly certain that theOGFortnitemap will return.

Given the fact that Zero Build mode didn’t exist back in Chapter 1, recently there were rumors thatEpic Games would be vaulting the game mode next season. It would make sense for this to happen, as it seems several mechanics added in the most recent years, such as mantling and tactical sprinting, will be temporarily removed in order to make the game exactly like it was back then. However, ShiinaBR, a reliable leaker in theFortnitecommunity, underlines that Zero Build will not be removed next season.

The skill gap is clear when it comes to buildingFortnite, and it made quite a lot of fans quit the game since they were having a hard time staying alive for too long in matches. TheFortniteplayer base grew when Zero Build mode was added because it made it more manageable for new players to ease into it and other players also made the choice to return and give it another try. Quite a few fans were relieved when ShiinaBR mentioned that Zero Build mode would still be playable next season, but they quickly started to question how compatible it would be with the Chapter 1 map if it truly was to return.

There are variousChapter 1 POIs and landmarksthat can be hard to reach or navigate unless the player can build. On top of this, if mantling is removed in Zero Build, there will be quite a few places that Zero Build players won’t be able to get to at all. Perhaps mantling will remain active in Zero Build; maybe Epic Games will only turn the standard Battle Royale game mode into an OG version of the game to appeal to nostalgic players. Only time will tell what Epic is planning.
