FortnitePlayers have been ranking up slower in Chapter 2 than they did in Chapter 1, and it’s hard not to notice. The good news is that there are ways to increase a player’s XP gains during matches.
Punchcard Metals
When Epic games promised players that there would beless grind inFortnite, fans calculated that players would need to complete about 1,088 matches and do a whole lot more just to hit level 100. That’s a lot of games and a lot ofFortniteplaying. For players who don’t have hours a day to grind, this can spell disaster for their Battle Pass and cosmetic dreams.
Until Epic Games bumps up the XP given per match, players are earning about 3,000 XP per match on average. However, they can increase their XP earned by completing in-game challenges and earning Punchcard Medals. Like the tweet above mentions, players can earn about 1.3 million XP just for completing all of them. While this won’t solve the overall XP problem completely, it will be much faster than just grinding out match after match.

The best part about Punchcard Medals is that they aren’t about winning matches, but completing specific tasks in matches like gathering supplies and opening chests. This is great for players who aren’tregular Victory Royale winners, but log in daily and play a few rounds.
Double XP with a Battle Pass
Players with theupdated Battle PassforFortniteChapter 2 have an extra XP meter that fills when completing challenges. After 8 challenges are completed, the XP bar will start to glow, signaling that earned XP from that point on will be doubled. This bar resets daily, so make sure to stay logged in for a while after accruing the double XP modifier.
Playing Solo
While playingFortnitewith friends is why many players continue to come back to the game day-after-day, sometimes running solo can be even more satisfying (at least to the XP grind). Solo matches seem to give out more XP than team matches, so it may be worth investing time in playlists that don’t feature teams.
Fortnite Chapter 2 XP Glitch
There is also currently a glitch that is a lot more significant than some of theFortniteglitchesfrom previous Seasons. While this glitch probably won’t stick around long, it’s best to take advantage while it’s active. All players have to do is visit certain locations on the map with every new round. They’ll rack up free XP fast, so use it before everyone loses it.
The four bridges in the new Chapter 2 map seem to reset each time a new match starts, so players get credit for visiting/unlocking those locations every match. With 2,000 XP up for grabs at each bridge location that is “found,” players can earn an additional 8,000 XP each round if they visit them all. Getting to all four bridges should be easy while players are running around tocomplete all those Open Water challengesthis week. Here are their locations:
