The Nvidia GeForce Now streaming platform has potentially had a massive data leak that has revealed a slew of unannounced games, including some massiveSquare Enixtitles. While fans should still take this leak with a massive grain of salt, some of the information in it has been backed up by reliable sources, including Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who has corroborated some of the Xbox-related info. This doesn’t mean thateverythingin the leak is accurate, but the leak still has plenty of exciting things forFinal Fantasyfans to ponder over.
There are fourFinal Fantasyprojects mentioned in the leak. Assuming the leak is accurate, it seems as thoughFinal Fantasyfans may be able to look forward toFinal Fantasy Tactics Remasteredat some point down the line, alongside the long-rumoredPC port ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, and an eventual PC port ofFinal Fantasy 16. Perhaps the most shocking game mentioned in the leak, though, is aFinal Fantasy 9remake, though it’s possible that this is actually in reference to the existing enhanced version that already exists.

There is some corrobating evidence that makes this Nvidia GeForce Now leak more legitimate than other leaks, but it’s always best to keep one expectations in check. It’s quite possible that these games are listed merely for testing purposes and don’t exist as actual projects. That being said, it would be hard to find aFinal Fantasyfan who wouldn’t be excited at the prospect of aFinal Fantasy Tacticsor remaster or afull-blown remake ofFinal Fantasy 9. The latter seems almost too good to be true, though, as Square Enix is not even close to being done with its work onFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeyet.
If aFinal Fantasy 9remake does exist and that’s not just at typo or placeholder text, one has to imagine when it would get announced. As it stands, Square Enix has a ton on its plate and is actively developing multipleFinal Fantasygames, so it seems way too early to throw aFinal Fantasy 9remake on the pile as well.Square Enix is confirmed for Tokyo Game Show, though, so maybe fans will get some answers about some of these potentially leaked projects sooner rather than later.
Out of the “leaked” games, the most believable is theFinal Fantasy 7 RemakeandFinal Fantasy 16PC ports. AFinal Fantasy 7 RemakePC port has been leaked multiple times, andFinal Fantasy 16is only a timed-PS5 exclusive, with plans to bring it other platforms once that exclusivity window is over. Square Enix has already brought many of its major games to PC and so one has to imagine thatFF16will come to the platform eventually.
None of these potentialFinal Fantasyprojects have been announced in an official capacity at the time of this writing.
