Many were wondering how Square Enix would close out the Hydaelyn and Zodiark storyline inFinal Fantasy 14, ifEndwalkerwould live up to the hype established byShadowbringers. Almost six months after Old Sharlayan opened its docks to the Warriors of Light, the results speak for themselves.Final Fantasy 14’splayerbase doubledduring the launch ofEndwalkerand the community shows no signs of slowing down.

Just as it did for its predecessors, Square Enix commemorated the expansion by releasing a music video ofEndwalker’sfeatured song: Flow. From Answers, Dragonsong, Revolutions, and the impeccable Tomorrow and Tomorrow, the songs that played during the end credits ofeveryFinal Fantasy 14expansionleft a stirring memory in the hearts of many of its players. Flow is no exception, as it accompanies the dramatic events ofEndwalkerbeautifully throughout the music video.
Flow’s melody is tied to Old Sharlayan’s theme similarly to how the Crystarium’s theme has notes from Tomorrow and Tomorrow. It is sung by Amanda Achen, whose vocals were featured inShadowbringers’song as well. The music video ends on a beautiful piece of artwork depicting the fallen comrades and companions of the Warrior of Light who gave their lives for thefuture of Etheirys, now drifting in the aetherial flow.
The music video perfectly captures just how strong of an impression thenewly introduced characters fromEndwalkermade. From Emet and Hythlodaeus, to Venat and Meteion,Endwalkerclosed out one chapter in the story of the Source and its Thirteen Reflections, and now the time has come to open a new one.
Appropriately titled, Newfound Adventure kicks off a brand-new tale. For once, the Warrior of Light isn’t embroiled in any political conspiracies or confronted by a world-ending threat. On a surface level,Endwalker’sfirst major content patchtells the story of a lighthearted treasure hunt in the Bounty – however, not everything is as it seems.
Final Fantasy 14is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
