Starting next week,Final Fantasy 14players will have more to do, as the Moogle Treasure Trove event will return to the game for the first time since July. The event will last until the release ofFinal Fantasy 14Patch 6.3, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble, in early January.Last month,Final Fantasy 14producer and director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida and global community producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchirevealed some details about Patch 6.3in Letter from the Producer LIVE Part 74. The next Live Letter will come sometime before the release of Patch 6.3 and go into more detail about job balance and other things set to arrive in the next update.RELATED:Final Fantasy 14 Fans Create Infographic for Unlockable HairstylesIn the meantime, the Moogle Treasure Trove event, titled The Hunt for Creation, will begin next Monday, December 12, and conclude when the game goes into maintenance ahead of Patch 6.3. TheMoogle Treasure Trove event last appeared in July, lasted for four weeks and concluded with the release of Patch 6.2, Buried Memory. Given that Patch 6.3 will release in early January, this gives players four weeks at most to take part in the event. The currency for the event’s run, called Irregular Tomestones of Creation, can be earned by players who complete specific instances and roulettes, such as the various Frontline PVP maps and theHeavensward24-player alliance raid series. These Tomestones can then be redeemed for various prizes by speaking to an Itinerant Moogle NPC located in the various capital cities.
The most notable prizes in this run of the Moogle Treasure Trove include the Namazu Neckerchief glamour, the Ishgardian Half Barding for chocobos, the sheep-like Albino Karakul mount, and various rare mounts fromA Realm Reborntribal quests and from theHeavenswardandStormblood8-player trial series. Various other cosmetic rewards, such as emotes and Triple Triad cards, will also be available for Irregular Tomestones. The beginning of the Moogle Treasure Trove event will run parallel to the final week ofthe current free login campaign forFinal Fantasy 14. The login campaign concludes next Friday, December 16.
As a result of players going into older content to earn the Irregular Tomestones needed for specific rewards, the Moogle Treasure Trove event will be a way for currentFinal Fantasy 14players to greet and interact with potential newcomers as they level their jobs and progress through the story. As a result, this event will be an opportunity for current and returning players to show newcomers whyFinal Fantasy 14wasawarded the 2022 Golden Joystick for Best Game Community, and why players still stick around through the gaps in content.
