Bethesda has released a guideto the latestFallout 76Public Test Server update that details the revamped Legendary crafting system. Milepost Zero, the twentieth major update to the game, includes a new location, new quests, and the return of Mischief Night. The biggest adjustment coming in Milepost Zero is to Legendary crafting, which allows players to acquire Legendary Particles when they scrap Legendary gear. Previously, gamers would have toacquireFallout 76’s Legendary Coresto craft Legendary items, but Bethesda is looking at a new use for the component in this update.

How Does the New Legendary Crafting System Work?

For players to acquire the Legendary Mod they desire, they will need to scrap items with that mod or trade with another player. Each time a Legendary item is scrapped, players have a chance to learn a Legendary Mod for the specific gear. Once a gamer gets the mod they want, they will need to access a Workbench to apply it to one Legendary item. When these mods are applied, the updated Legendary becomes character-bound, making it impossible to trade with others. According to Bethesda, Legendary mod restrictions are also being relaxed in Milepost Zero, which may help encourage players to craftFallout 76Legendary weaponsand armor who might not otherwise.

As Milepost Zero just arrived ontheFallout 76PTS, it may be some time before it releases on the main client. Similar to previous updates on the PTS, Milepost Zero offers many other changes that may contribute to an improved open-world experience. Bethesda is looking for player feedback to help it optimize all the changes before releasing the patch live.
