Today marks the release ofFall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, following alast-minute beta event on PS4 and PClast week. As players have been enjoying the game, many have noticed the multitude of different patterns, color schemes, and outfits that can be unlocked for their jellybean combatants. In particular, players have begun to wonder how to unlock theHalf-Lifeinspired Gordan Freeman outfit in the game.
WhileFall Guysis technically a battle royale game, it’s certainly a departure from traditional games in the genre. Rather than games likeApex Legendswhere players will need to loot and shoot to earn their victory,Fall Guysis a battle royale on an obstacle course, having players complete various rounds to earn a chance at the crown, similar to the showWipeout.

One of the best things players can unlock inFall Guysare cute outfits for their characters, and perhaps one of the most sought after is theHalf-LifeGordan Freeman outfit, complete with a headcrab. However, players will be disappointed to learn that the only way to unlock this outfit was by pre-ordering the game on Steam. As of the time of writing, there is no other way to unlock this outfit.
While this news will certainly be disappointing for players who purchased the game on Steam after release or PS4 players, there is some good news for the latter. From August 4 to August 31, PS4 players can getFall Guys: Ultimate Knockoutas one of two incredibly strong titles forAugust 2020’s free PS Plus games, with the other beingModern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.
It’s also worth noting that while the outfits inFall Guysare charming and eye-catching, they do not affect gameplay whatsoever. Players that don the iconic glasses, goatee, and HEV suit of Gordon Freeman are just as likely to beknocked off platforms, mistime jumps, or diveinto an enemy team as those with the default Fall Guy.
FollowingFall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s launch today, the game started to bereview bombed on Steam. The battle royale has seen severe server issues with a large influx of players and many players have been upset that the game includes microtransactions for new patterns, color schemes, and outfits despite the game costing $20. Players can earn both Kudos and Crowns, the game’s in-game currencies, simply by playing the game, the former of which is rewarded no matter how a player places in a match, and the latter is earned by winning a game.
