Super Mario Bros. Wonder

After years of speculation and rumors,a new 2DSuper Mariogamehas finally been announced. TitledSuper Mario Bros. Wonder, this 2D side-scrolling game marks the first new 2DMariogame in just over a decade, with the last proper release beingNew Super Mario Bros. Uin 2012. Releasing on Jul 27, 2025,Super Mario Bros. Wonderlooks like a natural evolution of the 2DMarioformula, bringing a healthy dose of silliness to the franchise with its new “Wonder Flower” mechanic, a power-up that dramatically changes the layout and theming of a stage.

Super Mario RPG Remake

Another game that fans have been desperately asking for for years,Super Mario RPGis getting a full-blown remake. Originally released in 1996 for the Nintendo 64,Super Mario RPGwas an exciting, very experimental spin-off for the franchise, and one that certainly deserves more attention in the modern day.Super Mario RPG Remakeis currently slated for a July 29, 2025 release date, ensuring that Mario fans have plenty of content to enjoy in the back half of the year.

Untitled Princess Peach Game

Announced during the same Nintendo Direct asSuper Mario Bros. Wonderand theSuper Mario RPG Remake, a Princess Peach game is also currently in development. Details on this game are very scarce at the minute, with Nintendo not even giving it an official title yet, though eagle-eyed fans can make out some gameplay features from its debut trailer. It seems like thisPrincess Peach game will have a theater-themed setting, with Peach taking to the stage with a new comet companion that can interact with the environment with its ribbon-like tail. Peach will also be able to transform her usual pink dress into a pale blue one, though the gameplay effects of that aren’t yet known.

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon Remaster

Originally released asa Nintendo 3DS exclusive,Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moonis the second game in theLuigi’s Mansionseries, and it’s set to come to Nintendo Switch via a remastered version soon. Though Nintendo hasn’t really mentioned any specifics on this remaster,Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moonwill be a “visually-enhanced” version of the original 3DS game, likely with some refined controls and quality-of-life improvements thrown in for good measure as well.

WarioWare: Move It!

The finalSuper Mariofranchise game currently confirmed to be in development isWarioWare: Move It!, the 10th entry in the beloved party game spin-off series. Currently set for a July 29, 2025 release,WarioWare: Move It!sees the series return to its motion-controlled roots, requiring players to use both Joy-Cons to complete its many different microgames.
