Euphoriais one of the most popular shows in the world right now, reportedly HBO’s second-most viewed series right behind the mega hitGame of Thrones.Euphoriahas won numerous awards and earned widespread critical acclaim, with plenty of praise aimed at its stars and their performances. WhileEuphorialead Zendaya is already well-known, the show has helped shine the spotlight on her co-stars, with fans now imagining them for roles outside the HBO series.
One star thatEuphoriahas put on the map isHunter Schafer, who plays the lead role of Jules Vaughn on the show. Schafer’s performance as Jules has been hailed as one of the best aspects of the show, and it’s worth pointing out that Schafer has also served in some behind-the-scenes roles as well. Schafer’s star is on the rise thanks to her work onEuphoria, and it seems one project fans would like to see her tackle in the future would be the role of Princess Zelda in a potentialLegend of Zeldaadaptation.

This was brought to Schafer’s attention recently by anEntertainment Tonightreporter. The reporter told Schafer about a viral TikTok video that fan-casted Schafer asPrincess Zelda, asking if she would be interested in such a role. “I mean, yeah, that would be cool,” Schafer responded. Schafer then revealed that she has playedZeldain the past. “I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That’s such a good game,” she said.
As it stands, Nintendo has not announced any plans to make aLegend of Zeldaadaptation of any kind, but there have been rumors about alive-actionZeldaNetflix seriesthat never materialized. Nintendo has been famously hesitant to let Hollywood make anything about its games or characters after the disastrous live-actionSuper Mario Bros.movie, but it seems to be changing its tune in recent years.
While aZeldafilm or television product has not been announced at the time of this writing, Nintendo is testing the waters with a newSuper Mariofilm. Partnering with Illumination, theSuper Mariomovie will be an animated family film withChris Pratt in the title role. It’s expected to premiere in theaters at some point at the end of the year, though there hasn’t been so much as a trailer so far.
If theSuper Mariomoviedoes well, it seems probable that Nintendo would be more willing to pursue other film and television projects based on its IP. And if a live-actionLegend of Zeldamovie or TV series is made, it will be interesting to see if Schafer is considered for the role.
