The Templar class inThe Elder Scrolls Onlineis widely regarded as being the best combination of Tank and Healing-oriented spells in its toolkit among the game’s six classes. Templars are good at dishing out damage, too, but where they really shine is in being able to keep their allies alive through damaging-and-buffing hybrid abilities.

Though Templars tend towards the Heavy and Light armor sets available inThe Elder Scrolls Online, some Medium armor sets also confer good bonuses that the class can take advantage of. The most useful armor set abilities for Templars tend to focus on the class' Tanking and Support potential, whereas Medium Armortends to be all about DPS.
Updated July 04, 2025 by Erik Petrovich:Templars in Elder Scrolls Online can go a lot of different ways in terms of build variety. Though they tend to stick to support-oriented builds, they can be just as fierce on the front lines dealing and taking damage. Magicka-based Templars have a good variety of armor sets available to them, like the Armor of the Seducer which grants flat passive bonuses as well as the support-oriented Eyes of Mara set that does the same for Restoration Staff users. Before choosing a set, it’s important to know exactly what you’re getting into and what benefits your character map reap. Each entry has been updated to include a brief synopsis of how to get each set as well as a brief overview of the progressive set bonuses.

Armor of the Seducer - Craftable
The Armor of the Seducer set is a craftable armor set that suits a Magicka-based Templar perfectly, even though its bonuses aren’t complex (though a term like Seducer doesn’t typically apply to the heart-of-gold Templar archetype). Like most craftable item sets, the Armor of the Seducer grants exclusively passive abilities – having to pay attention to one less thing in combat can be more relieving than one might think.
With two and four pieces equipped, the Armor of the Seducer increases Magicka Regeneration by 129 each for a total of 258 Magicka Regen. With three pieces equipped it boosts Max Magicka, and with the full set bonus all Magicka-related abilities are 10% cheaper to cast. It’s a no-brainer Magicka-oriented set that builds across allElder Scrolls Onlineclasses rely on.

How To Get The Armor of the Seducer Set
Crafting stations for pieces in the Armor of the Seducer set can be found onFisherman’s Island in southeast Stormhaven, in theTemple of the Eight in central Grahtwood, and inBerezan’s Mine in northern Deshaan.
Eyes of Mara - Craftable
The Eyes of Mara set is another Magicka-related set that is more tuned for Support-oriented Templars than other traditional dungeon roles. Two pieces equpped increases Magicka Regen by 129, three pieces boosts Max Magicka by 1096, and four pieces increases Weapon and Spell Damage by 129.
The full set bonus is what really makes this worth trying out in a support build. With five pieces equipped the Eyes of Mara set reduces Restoration Staff ability costs by 15%, a higher reduction than most other cost-reducing effects inElder Scrolls Online. This makes a Templar’s restorative bread and butter much less resource-intensive and lets players cast more spells without having to worry about getting the Magicka back quite as fast.

How To Get The Eyes of Mara Set
The Eyes of Mara set is a craftable armor set, but it only has one Crafting Location:Mara’s Eye Manufactory. It is only found in Eyevea, the realm Sheogorath stole from Tamriel, and thusplayers must fully complete the Mage’s Guild questlineto gain access to these Crafting Tables.
Medusa - Heavy Armor, Jewelry, Weapons
The Medusa armor set is an extremely useful set for Templars who spend most of their time upfront, dishing out blowsas often as they receive them. With two, three, and four pieces of the set equipped the player gains 657 Spell Critical with each progression, and with five items the Templar gains a further 892 Spell Critical. Additionally, with a full set of five, the player gains the Minor Force buff at all times, increasing damage dealt with critical hits by 10%.
Though it doesn’t necessarily play fully into a Tank or Support build, the Spell Critical increase makes it very useful for hybrid Templar builds. The Spell Critical increase makes healing and ally buff spells crit more often, and the Minor Force buff can help keep up a DPS onslaught on the side.

How To Get The Medusa Set
Look for the Medusa set inthe Arx Corinium dungeon in Shadowfen, where pieces drop from the dungeon’s variousbosses and minibosses.
Sentinel of Rkugamz - Light, Medium, Heavy Armor

In terms of playing Support as a Templar, there are few armor sets more useful than this. The Templar has plenty of ways to heal and buff allies, but can find it hard to heal in an area, unlike say the Warden class. The Sentinel of Rkguamz set is, unfortunately, not very usefulif the Templar is not specced specifically as a Support.
How To Get The Sentinel of Rkguamz Set
TheHelmetof this armor set can be found from thefinal boss of Veteran mode Darkshade Caverns, while theShoulderpiece is found inMal al-Ragath’s chest with the Undaunted.
Brands of Imperium - Heavy Armor, Jewelry, Weapons
The Brands of Imperium armor set is a fantastic Tanking-oriented armor set with bonuses to health, healing, and a party-wide shield ability. With two and three pieces equipped the set confers 1206 Max Health to the player each, and with four pieces it increases the player’s Healing Received by 4%. With five pieces equipped, though, it grants an incredibly powerful shield to the player and all allies in an area around the player for six seconds, an effect that triggers every 12 seconds.
Some encounters can be tough to Tank, whether through DPS mismanagementor a mistake like pulling too much of a room. When the encounter would usually seem impassable, though, this set keeps allies alive and lets the Tank Templar keep taking blows in their stead.

How To Get The Brands of the Imperium Set
The Brands of Imperium armor set is found in theWhite-Gold Tower dungeon within the Imperial City, where it drops from the dungeon’s bosses and mini bosses alike.
Earthgore - Light, Medium, Heavy Armor
The Earthgore set is, like the Sentinel of Rkguamz set, a monster set only acquirable through the Undaunted made up of two pieces: a Helmet and a Shoulder piece. With one piece equipped the set gives a 4% bonus to Healing Done, while with two pieces equipped the Templar gains a special ability when healing targets under 50% health. A Pool of Blood will spawn beneath these ally targets and heal the lowest-health ally within its area for 1702 Health every 2 seconds for the duration of the Blood Pool.

It’s an incredibly useful armor set for Support Templars, as the amount healed is on-par with fully-upgraded class skill and Restoration Staff skills – although the healing is over time, not instantaneous. Nevertheless, it’s a must-have forplayers in the Support role, not just for Templars.

At five pieces equipped, it grants a flat 300 Weapon Damage bonus to the player.

The set is put to best use by DPS-oriented Dragonknights, though Tanking Dragonknights can give the set a try if they trust their Support enough.
