Plenty of gamers have been enjoyingElden Ringsince it launched in February. With punishing combat traditionally associated with other FromSoftware RPGs, and a new setting developed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin,Elden Ringhas earned its reputation as being one of the best games of 2022so far, being one of the most well-reviewed games of all time. However,Elden Ringis not perfect, and receives constant patches and updates to fix things within the game.
The most recent patch, 1.04,fixed two ofElden Ring’smost notorious glitches. First, it dealt with a bug that saw players having to hit illusory walls 50 or so times before they could pass through them. The patch also fixed a problem with bleed dogs, which were dishing out an absurd amount of damage. However, even with these bugs fixed, players were still running into problems with other elements ofElden Ring, leading to FromSoftware dropping another hotfix for the game.

Patch 1.04.1 looks to fix a few major issues inElden Ring. Firstly, it changed how the Cerulean Hidden Tear effect worked. Also, the hotfix is stopping some bosses from dying at unintended times, and fixing the “Elden Beast” to stop it from working properly. There are some text fixes as well but perhaps what players will likely notice first is the change to Malenia, Blade of Miquella.Malenia is one of the most infamous bosses inElden Ring, and players find her to be one of the most difficult too.
Malenia’s quick attacks leave the player little time to dodge out of the way. Perhaps more annoying than her attacks themselves is the fact that her hits will steal life from the player and heal her. This resulted in a bug that saw Malenia heal herself even when players dodged her attacks. ThisElden Ringbug appears to have occurred from players attempting to take on Malenia together, and the game assuming that the boss is landing her attacks.
Taking down bosses inElden Ring’sco-op is one of the game’s few multiplayer features, and it has ended up creating its best meme so far. “Let me solo her” is anElden Ringjoke spawning from an unknown player who arrives at the Malenia boss fight mostly naked before declaring that he will take her on solo. The player has roundlybeaten Malenia for otherElden Ringplayers hundreds of times, and it seems with this fix, they will continue to do so. The full patch notes can be read below:
