Some players can be rather fortunate when it comes to playing video games. Many have had a moment of luck while fighting a boss, attempting a maneuver, or pulling off an epic move. OneElden Ringplayer has experienced such a moment while taking on a boss battle.
Bosses inElden Ringcan be tough, with one wrong move or moment of misfortune leading to the death of a player. A mistimed roll or unfortunate jump can be all it takes to lead to a player to the death screen. Sometimes though, luck can be on the player’s side. OneElden Ringplayer had this sort of luck, defeating a boss as they die.

A Redditor by the handle Fxami posted a clip showing them fightingElden Ring’sValiant Gargoyle double boss. The video shows the player die during the battle. However, as the Fxami’s body slowly drops to the floor, both of the Valiant Gargoyle’s fall off the edge of the arena they are being fought in.
Fxami’s screen shows the words “You died” as their body slumps over, but is soon followed by “Great Enemy Felled.” The game then informs the player that they have received theweapons of the twoElden Ringbosses. Even though Fxami died during the battle, it seems that the game rewarded them with a victory against the Valiant Gargoyles at a time when they should be accepting a complete loss.
While many are relating with Fxami, some are joking that the game felt bad for killing them. One commenter stated that this is what happens when the game feels bad for how hard the player got slapped, while another says that the “task failed successfully.” One final commenter stated that gamers have to respect how consistentElden Ringis with rewarding post death kills.
While Fxami was able to claim a posthumous win, one player found a way to cheese a different boss. A Redditor by the name H3NRY-56 shared a clip of them easily defeatingCastle Sol’s Commander Niall. The video shows H3ENRY-56 firing arrows into a small hole in one of the castle’s walls. It has been found that Commander Niall stands just beyond this hole, and that the boss can be shot before players even enters its arena. After a number of precisely shot arrows, it is shown that H3NRY-56 had defeated the boss. This shows that there are ways to beat the bosses ofElden Ringwithout looking at the death screen over and over again.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
